We had such a wonderful time experiencing the Winter Wonderland Rooftop Dining Domes at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay. The atmosphere was warm, cosy, and beautifully set up, making it a truly memorable evening. The food was delicious, and the entire experience felt so well thought out. A special thank you to Javier, who looked after us throughout the night. He made our drinks, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. His exceptional service really made the evening even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for a unique winter date night or special occasion in Sydney. We’ll definitely be back!

I rarely write reviews, but our experience at your hotel today was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it, both with management and with future guests considering this hotel for a special family occasion. We had brought our extended family together from different parts of Sydney to celebrate Father’s Day with an 11am brunch at The Bar. Unfortunately, as soon as we had ordered our drinks and were waiting to order our meals, a member of the cleaning staff began vacuuming directly beside our table. Wee asked the waitress whether the vacuuming could be postponed. A manager then came over and told us that it had to be done at that time. While I can accept that hotels have operational requirements, what I found completely unacceptable was the manager’s attitude and the way she handled the situation. There was no apology, no acknowledgement that this was disruptive to paying guests, and no attempt to find a reasonable solution. Even more concerning, the manager had not come to speak to us before the vacuuming started. When we questioned the situation, she actually told the cleaning staff member, in front of us, to continue vacuuming while we were still trying to explain our concerns. I would perhaps have been more understanding if this had happened at a small, casual café. But at an established hotel, particularly on a major family celebration day, I expect a much higher standard of service and basic consideration for guests. The most disappointing part was not even the vacuuming itself. It was the complete lack of professionalism and hospitality shown by the manager. We chose your hotel for an important family occasion and left feeling that the occasion—and our experience as guests—was not given the level of consideration we reasonably expected. This is not the standard of hospitality I would expect from a hotel of this standing.

I travel a lot and I’m not saying that lightly. I hold Marriott Ambassador Elite, Hilton’s top-tier status and top-tier Accor status, and I’ve stayed at well over 200 hotels around the world. I know what good hotel service looks like, and I’m actually pretty easy to please. The main issue here wasn’t the room, the food or even the smaller problems at check-in. It was the night staff and complete lack of service. From around midnight I called Reception, Room Service and “Instant Service” repeatedly for almost an hour. No answer. I even called the hotel from my personal phone. Still nothing. By around 1am I genuinely thought something might have happened, so I went downstairs myself. Reception was empty. I called out and eventually someone appeared. When I asked why nobody had answered for nearly an hour, I was told it was shift change and the staff had been making food and eating. Then suddenly 4–5 staff appeared. That honestly blew my mind. You’re operating a 5-star InterContinental, charging around $500 a night, with a button called “Instant Service”, yet guests can’t reach Reception, Room Service or anyone for an hour because the night team are eating together? Staff deserve breaks. Of course they do. But a 5-star hotel cannot have everyone disappear at once and leave guests completely unattended. To make it worse, the next morning we again struggled to get anyone to answer and eventually had to use the emergency option just to organise our car. I’ve had better service at 3-star hotels. I’m continuing to build my loyalty with IHG because my other IHG stays have been fine, but InterContinental Double Bay seriously needs to look at its night management and staffing. That was the part of this stay that was completely unacceptable. Love someone to reach out to me so I can disclose clearly what's happend and preferably not someone who worked the nights I stayed.

We had our wedding at the InterContinental Double Bay and honestly I could not have imagined a more perfect experience. Everything went above and beyond what we expected. The food was absolutely incredible, so many of our guests commented on how amazing everything tasted. The whole team was so attentive, professional, kind, and genuinely made us feel so well looked after all night. Everyone made us feel honestly royal. Emily was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process and made everything feel so smooth and stress free. I’m beyond grateful for all her help, care, and attention to detail. Also a huge thank you to the staff working on the night who made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. I am soooo sooooo happy we chose to have our wedding here. Such a beautiful venue with the most incredible team. Truly a night we will never forget. 💗

We visited for the Le Petite Chef Experience and it was incredible. The food was the best meal out as a family we have had, and the staff went above and beyond when they realised our son didn’t eat red meat in the children’s version of the meal, and made him a chicken version of the meal with no warning. We were blown away by the experience, but most of all the service!
