Reviews for La Piazza

I’ve been a loyal customer of La Piazza for many years, and it has always been my favourite restaurant. My all-time favourite dish is the Penne Piazza. Unfortunately, the last two times I ordered it as a takeaway, the taste was really disappointing — so bad that I couldn’t eat it and had to throw it away. This was very upsetting because when I dine in, the food is usually great, and I’ve never had this issue before. I’m not sure what’s going wrong with the takeaway orders, but the quality was definitely not the same. I hope this feedback helps improve consistency, especially for takeaway orders, because La Piazza has always been special to me and I’d love to enjoy it the way I used to. Hi there, I just wanted to follow up after my visit today 29/Jan/2026 and share some positive feedback. The food was absolutely great — especially the Penne Piazza, which was back to being as delicious as I’ve always loved it. I’d also like to give a special shoutout to Chris, the assistant manager, for his excellent service. He was welcoming, attentive, and made the experience even better. Thank you for taking my previous feedback on board. Today’s visit really reminded me why La Piazza has been such a favourite of mine. Kind regards, Ali

As someone who had never been, and as a first time visit to Australia from New Zealand, the place was awfully confusing. We were seated with physical menu's and left on our own for 15 minutes before wondering why no one had come to take our order as that's standard procedure at home. We were seated up beside a wall and the stand with our table number on it had a QR code on the back to scan for ordering and paying, very inconvenient to have that QR code facing the wall. Once we discovered this we tried to use it, only to find the online menu didn't include a drinks menu while the menu's we were handed before sitting down did include drinks. So we decided to just go up to the counter and order it all there, I ordered the food to then be told drinks had to be ordered at a separate bar and I was to carry them to the table myself and they wont be brought over. I had to convince the bartender to bring a couple of those drinks over as I ordered a fair few at once and could not carry them all. We ordered a variety of drinks including a passionfruit mojito which had zero passion fruit taste and instead tasted like straight soda water. The pizzas themselves were okay, but it seems very unnecessary bringing them out on such ridiculous large stands that bring them up to head height. Being served on a chopping board straight onto the table would be fine. We ordered a side of focaccia bread which was only four tiny slices and the bread itself was fairly stale which was disappointing for the price of it. Overall pretty disappointed by the experience as eating out is always a much easier and enjoyable process back home. At the very least the waiter who seated us could've asked if we had been there before and explained how it worked instead of us figuring it out alone.

Amazing atmosphere Great staff, fast and friendly service. Food was below average. Sticky table and glasses with marks on it. Typical RSL vibe.

La Pizza, located inside the Bankstown Sports Club, is a fantastic Italian restaurant that I highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, authentic food in a spacious and beautifully designed setting. As someone who enjoys Italian cuisine, I must say their pizza is absolutely outstanding — full of flavor, cooked to perfection, and made with quality ingredients. It’s easily some of the best pizza I’ve had in Sydney. The restaurant itself is quite large, capable of accommodating several hundred guests, which makes it an ideal spot for birthday parties, family gatherings, or simply a nice dinner out with friends. The interior is decorated in a charming traditional Italian style, with warm colors and classic decor that give it a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. One of the things I really appreciate is how spacious, cool, and airy the dining area feels. It creates a relaxed and comfortable environment where you can really enjoy your meal without feeling rushed or crowded. The prices at La Pizza are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. It’s definitely a hidden gem within Bankstown Sports Club and a place you shouldn’t miss if you’re a fan of Italian cuisine or just looking for a great night out.
