The view from the room was outstanding, overlooking Circular Quay, the Harbour Bridge, and ferries coming in and out — truly the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, everything else fell well short of five-star expectations. Reception and room service did not pick up the phone even once, despite multiple attempts. The breakfast menu was extremely limited, and housekeeping was not done properly. If you are looking for a genuine five-star service experience, I would recommend considering other nearby hotels.
My stay at the Pullman Quay Grand was absolutely lovely. The staff and property were top-notch—clean, efficient, and genuinely thoughtful. I was even offered a complimentary bevvie from the bar, which was a kind touch after the small inconvenience of waiting for my suite to be cleaned. The room was spotless, and the jetted tub was just the ticket after a long, rainy excursion downtown. Access to key points like the international terminal, the CBD, and even across the water to Manly was a breeze straight from the hotel doors. You’ve got dining and shopping right along the docks and The Rocks, so there’s plenty to enjoy without going far. A stroll down the waterfront held stunning views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Gardens are just around the bend. If offered, don’t skip the brekkie! Breakfast was delicious, hearty, and offered plenty of variety—it included tea, juice, and a proper espresso. All in all, worth every cent. I’m bringing my Mum along next visit. Aloha!
Nice apartments with a great view, although bathrooms are showing their age. Whilst long term reception staff (David) remain customer focussed and engaging the newer staff do not seem to have been taught the basics of hospitality - smiling and making the customer feel like they are their number one priority. When I was checking out and talking to David, she came over and said she would handle my check out which was fine. I then followed her over to her desk. Whilst she started doing my checkout, which only required for me to pay for two nights parking she decided that at the same time she needed to tell her colleague to make some reservation for another guest. I understand that the hotel has other clients, but I did expect that when she was dealing with me, after she had specifically asked to serve me that she would give me her exclusive attention. When I pulled her up on this she didn’t apologise just tried to make an excuse for her bad manners.
10th October stay. We booked a lovely one bedroom apartment with garden views. Efficient and friendly service. Clean room and fully equipped kitchen and laundry in the apartment, also fully air-conditioned. During our stay the main hotel restaurant was under renos, but the Hacienda bar was available to use for breakfast and drinks (not sure about dinner as we didnt use it for that), also lovely harbour views. Small convenience store next to the front entrance. Very limited parking outside the entrance with only 3x spots. Valet parking available and during our stay it was $75 p/n. Large gardens directly across the road to explore. Located in the heart of Circular Quay with plenty of dining venues to choose from and also minutes walk from all ferries. Could stay here to catch a cruise as the dock is located on the other side, approx 5-7min walk. Train station and tram is also very close. 5min walk to Sydney Opera House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
location is amazing and the room was generally pretty good. staff were all friendly but not all that helpful. took a phone call + 2 desk visits + 3 room visits to fix a pretty simple shower blockage (not caused by us). took 2 calls + 1 room visit to ask for infant linen but they didn't have any so a towel had to do. given the cost i don't think that better service is too much to ask for...
