Refreshing. Joyously creative. Exquisite. The staff are warm, friendly, considerate, and present. This is the best vegetarian I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve tried to everything from Buddhist temples in Hong Kong to Govinda’s and Mother Chu’s. The bonus is that it’s all for a good cause, paying it forward to disadvantaged people, being more sustainable and responsible… Parking is a mission (part and parcel with the Surry Hills area), but it is definitely worth it.
It’s a wonderful experience to hv lunch at this amazing & cosy restaurant. Their food is scrumptious and beautifully presented. The chefs are so creative and professional to create the weekly 3-course vegetarian set meal with the odd bunches of food. The volunteer staff are friendly with great gratitude and respect. Really appreciate their hospitality and concepts of running the restaurant which helps those vulnerable communities in need. I hv to salute them for their service and dedication! 👍🤗💖 thank you for everyone who made this possible for the communities!
The world needs more places like this. A great initiative by a great charity, OzHarvest. The staff are mainly volunteers, very friendly, courteous and attentive. On the night, our meal was all vegetarian, yet still excellent in delivering flavour on a plate. We had a 4 course meal with non-alcoholic drinks. My friend and I were honestly blown away by how delicious the meals were, yet more than 90% of the ingredients used were rescued from the landfill. It's just amazing how much food is wasted and this place is an eye opener. Keep up the fantastic work. Try to get yourself a spot, if you can.
I had a beautiful experience in this restaurant! Every volunteer staff was so helpful and lovely, made my first visit pleasant. The food was amazingly made, was so flavorful. I really enjoyed every single moment. Would love to come back. Thank you so much everyone who made dishes, served them for me, also related to all the work to let me have this memorable and heartwarming experience! You guys are the best!
What an amazing place! If you haven't already, check out the OzHarvest Reffetorio. They feed delicious three course meals all made from rescued food to people doing it tough. On Thursday evenings you can pay to eat there. The food was delicious, creative and beautifully presented. The food is predominantly vegetarian and they cater well for vegans and other dietary requirements. The service (all volunteers) was excellent. The restaurant is a really lovely space. It's great to know you're contributing to such a worthy purpose while enjoying a stunning meal. Highly recommend.
