Absolutely love studying at the State Library of NSW 📚✨ The space is perfect for getting work done. There are plenty of seating options, whether you prefer big desks, cozy corners, or just a peaceful spot to focus. It’s such a productive environment, especially if you need to concentrate for long hours. One of my favorite things is the architecture 😍 The building is absolutely stunning, with high ceilings, beautiful details, and that classic historic charm. Studying here just feels different, it’s inspiring and makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Facilities are great, and the overall atmosphere is very calm and respectful. Definitely one of the best study spots in Sydney! Highly recommend if you’re a student or just need a quiet place to work 💻✨
Great spot to visit whether you’re a tourist or a local. I came here just to get some work done and ended up being blown away by the place. The building is stunning, the main reading room has an amazing atmosphere, and the stained glass throughout the library is genuinely beautiful. Upstairs they had a paper origami area when I visited, which was a fun and unexpected touch. The whole space feels calm, inspiring and well looked after. It’s one of those places you don’t realise is this impressive until you actually walk inside. Highly recommend dropping in.
The NSW State Library is a great place to visit with plenty to see and do. It is kid friendly, so it suits families as well as students. There is ample workspace for studying or reading. The staff are splendid and always helpful. Overall, it is a welcoming and useful place for learning and exploring.
Incredibly beautiful building exterior and interior! Often featuring free art galleries and exhibitions - good for children and adults alike. Plan about 2-3 hours and also check out the gift shop and cafe in the modernized next door building if you have time. Wonderfully organized and laid out. Well worth the visit!! Free admissions as well.
A truly impressive place that beautifully combines the old and the new. The historic building looks like a grand palace — remarkable in both its size and architectural design, adorned with intricate details. A bridge connects the old structure with the new, symbolically spanning across a “capsule of time.” The site also features an exhibition explaining the institution’s significance and its contribution to community welfare. Truly impressive.
