We had a wonderful stay at The Sebel. Thank you to the front desk team for arranging an early check-in for us, which was greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Benjamin, who helped us with our luggage and kindly took photos for my parents. He was incredibly friendly, professional and made my parents feel very welcome. We were visiting Sydney to celebrate my parents' 30th wedding anniversary, and the kindness of the staff made our stay even more memorable. The room was beautiful, clean and very comfortable, with stunning views that made our stay even more special. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend The Sebel to anyone visiting Sydney. Thank you for the excellent service and hospitality.
Breathtaking Sydney Harbour views! My family loved it. My family and I had an absolutely amazing stay here! We were completely captivated by the stunning view of Sydney Harbour right from our room—it was so breathtaking that we honestly just wanted to stay inside and enjoy it. Everyone thoroughly loved the experience. However, there were just two minor issues regarding the room that we wanted to bring to your attention for future maintenance: Shower Leakage: The design of the shower enclosure allows water to leak onto the bathroom floor, making it quite wet and slippery. Squeaky Doors: Some of the interior doors made a noticeable squeaking noise when opening or closing and could probably use a bit of oil/lubrication. Overall, it was a memorable and wonderful stay. Thank you for the great experience, and we would love to return!
2026 is my year of booking only Accor hotels. Reached platinum now having stayed 40 nights. Have to say that my favourite stays have been at Quay West here and Melbourne. The benefits of status really start to show, bottle of champagne, two drinks at the bar and gourmet biscuits here. Nice clean room with everything we needed. Views of the city with stunning views from the level 23 Sun Deck. Pool, gym and sauna up there. There’s a bit of wear and tear around the pool but it really is a five star set up there. Only suggestion would be mop more often around the pool as it was wet and slippy most of the time. Great service across the hotel. Would highly recommend staying and I’ll definitely come again.
*Noting one star as zero unavailable* Our experience at the Sebel Quay West fell materially below both expectation and the standards associated with the Accor brand. We knowingly booked a room that had not yet been refurbished, however, at a rate of $1,810 AUD for four nights, we reasonably expected the room to be clean, well-maintained, and of an acceptable standard. This was not the case. Upon arrival at approximately 8pm, we found the room to be in a poor state, with visible water damage around the bathroom door and framing. The air conditioning unit was also excessively noisy, resulting in a disrupted night’s sleep. Of greater concern was the hygiene standard. The following morning, I discovered a used sticking plaster in the shower tray when turning on the water. The bathroom extraction fan was also heavily soiled. This is unacceptable and indicates a failure in basic housekeeping protocols. We documented these issues and raised them immediately with your front desk team. While the staff member responded appropriately and arranged a room change - which we appreciated - the need for relocation under these circumstances should not have arisen. The replacement room, although refurbished, remained tired in presentation and did not reflect the quality represented on the Sebel website. In addition, the broader guest experience was consistently poor: - The Level 13 lift foyer was left in a persistently unclean and neglected state, with debris, rubbish bags, and maintenance items visible throughout our stay - The breakfast offering was limited and lacked attention to detail, with basic items such as salt grinders left empty across multiple tables - Staff presentation and engagement, particularly among some male team members, fell short of expected hospitality standards - At check-out, no enquiry was made regarding our stay - representing a missed opportunity to address serious concerns directly. Having worked in hospitality for many years, I do not raise concerns lightly. However, the combination of cleanliness failures, maintenance issues, and lack of overall care represents a systemic breakdown in standards rather than an isolated issue.
This was a really pleasant stay and the room was so spacious! The only thing that would have made it better would have been a small carton of milk to make a cup of coffee and some water. A la carte breakfast was also lovely and staff were pleasant. I would stay again.
