Reviews for Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay

If you are looking for a hotel that is in a perfect location in Sydney - especially if you are using water based transportation (cruise, ferry's etc), Sydney Harbour Marriott at Circular Quay is perfect. One block from the harbour, 5 min walk to the Opera House and cruise port and quick access to the train. The hotel itself is nice but the rooms need some updating and care. Rooms were definitely clean and beds were comfortable. As a Platinum Bonvoy member, I used the executive lounge for breakfast and select / variety was pretty decent. All kinds of drinks, juices, coffee etc were available in the lounge but, ironically, no water. Not sure why that was missing. Perhaps the only concern I had was the price. Rates swung widely based on day of the week and overall demand. I wouldn't have stayed here with the prices I had to pay had it not been for the convenience of proximity to cruise port and all things we wanted to see were in the circular quay area. Truly enjoyed our time in Sydney. The picture I enclosed was taken from our room!

Fantastic service as always from a Marriott. Even though booked most standard room the staff make you feel like a VIP. Treat bags for kids and lollies at check in Big queue to check in but moved fast due to very efficient staff Room was ready mega early for us which is great with kids and when just staying one night. Had a delivery of free cookies and macarons that arvo to the room- and then another delivery of a card and chocolate in the evening! On the saturday eve we asked if we could get some fruit for the kids from the lobby bar (happy to pay) and the amazing staff gave us two bowls of chopped up fruit for the kids for free! Requested extra pillows and they arrived instantly. All staff were so friendly and helfpul. Hotel is very clean and smells lovely Room and bathroom slightly outdated but very clean and tidy. Beds a little small (doubles) but mega comfy. Pool was a little cold but great depth and size and again very clean. Breakfast was wonderful - a cruise ship was leaving so massive long queue for breaky but wow the staff moved through them so quick and so wait for breakfast not as long as you would first think. Great location! 100% would come back

Stayed here for 2 nights last week. Checkin was a bit disappointing as our room wasn't ready even at 3pm (published check in time). We were told at about 3:15pm that there was a problem with the toilet and so a different room needs to be assigned to us. It was a double bed instead of king bed but has good views of the Opera House and Circular Quay. So all was forgiven. Access to the Executive Lounge is good with better coffee, soft drinks and food. Alcoholic drinks only in the evening and night. It is obviously convenient to lots of places with buses, light rail, trains and ferries in Circular Quay which can take you anywhere in Sydney. The only real problem was finding old stains (blood/wine or otherwise) on one of the pillow slips when ready for bed on the 1st night. All bedding linen and pillow slips were replaced the following day. Hopefully that pillow slip has been discarded or bleached many times over. Thanks to the person who checked us in (I think the name is Olivia). When she saw us leaving 2 days later at 4pm, she addressed me by name! Great memory and great customer service.

Just arrived home from a 2 day work trip. Venue is beautiful, in room menu delicious, rooms very tidy and great location. Sky and Jisoo were amazing upon check in 11/12/25, and provided a delightful room upgrade for a small fee. I'd recommend this hotel to friends and family. 5 stars!

Not a great experience for the price paid. Wonderful location, don’t get me wrong. The rooms are dated and bare. Not even a microwave or coffee maker. Housekeeping was terrible. We had to request room cleaning and when they did it was terrible. The room barely looked made up or cleaned. There was still dirt on the floors and hairs on the bed and bathroom. They didn’t even have cold water in the room. They also left the finished room service dishes in our room after it was “cleaned”! Unbelievable. This room was $1400. I would not recommend this location unless you want to spend a lot and receive nothing close to what the price is. Many other properties close by that you can consider. The glitz and glam does not convert to the rooms. The staff were nice but did not make up for the $1600+ after all is said and done.
