As one space, Limelight provides 318m2​ of contemporary space for any occasion. Limelight can also be divided into two rooms, each seating up to 100 in a banquet setting. 

A highlight of this space is the built-in bar that is easily hidden from sight when not required. This makes this space a great option for hosting cocktail parties for up to 300 or banquet dinners of up to 160 people.

Limelight is also ideal for presentations, launch parties, seminars and meetings. Located on the same level as the Waitākere Rooms and the Circle Foyer, Limelight works well as part of a multi-room convention.

Waitākere Rooms

Large windows and city views add to the contemporary feel of Waitākere Rooms. The 518m2​ area can be used in its entirety or divided into three separate spaces, each with excellent soundproofing and superb technical facilities.

As one entire space, the Waitākere Rooms can accommodate 350 guests theatre style or 280 people for dinner in a modern setting that can easily be themed to suit the occasion. This space is also a popular choice for Christmas parties and exhibitions.

As individual rooms, capacities range​ from 100 to 140 in cocktail style or if the rooms are combined the space can host up to 500 guests.

Hunua Rooms

Hunua Rooms offer four different configuration options within Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre​, creating a dynamic & contemporary event space suited towards the ever-changing landscape of modern-day event requirements.

Utilising retractable walls, the 909 m2 area can be divided into three individual rooms with private foyer, or used as one large space. Individual rooms range from 180 m2 to 204 m2 and can accommodate up to 120 guests in a banquet setting or 186 theatre style. Combining the three rooms and private foyer creates a space with the capacity to seat up to 580 guests for dinner or 900 for a cocktail reception. This space is also ideal for exhibitions and can accommodate up 32 exhibition booths.

Balcony Foyer

Located on the top level of Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre​, the Balcony Foyer is bathed in natural light and offers impressive sweeping views over Aotea Square.

The floor to ceiling windows illuminates the space in the day time, providing a pleasant space for conference lunches. Offering 1100m²​ of space, the Balcony Foyer is well suited to exhibitions with the capacity to accommodate up to 42 booths.​​ T​​​​he foyer also has excellent technical facilities with both wired and wireless connections. 

At night, the sparkling lights of the city make this a superb location for cocktail parties of up to 1000 guests, with permanent bars at both ends of the foyer.

​Lighting and projection effects can be used to add impact to events in this large space.

Waihorotiu Rooms

With floor to ceiling windows, and a balcony over-looking Aotea Square, Waihorotiu is a favourite for day meetings, conference break-out sessions and intimate celebrations.

Waihorotiu is bright, modern and private. Tucked away on the fourth floor of Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre​, the room has a foyer area outside ideal for delegate catering.

Waihorotiu 1 seats up to 100 people theatre style. The capacity of this space can be extended by utilising the adjacent Waihorotiu 2 which is connected by a retractable wall. Waihorotiu 2 can be hired in addition to Waihorotiu 1 to use as a secretariat, for satchel packing or for additional storage space.

As a cocktail party venue the room can accommodate up to 180 guests and 90 guests​ for a gala dinner.​

Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre in Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre has been Auckland's most in-demand space since it opened over 20 years ago as New Zealand's leading modern convention & performing arts venue.

In 2012, an extensive refurbishment was undertaken, updated interiors with birch timber ply and tasmanian oak panelling were matched with an acoustically responsive design to suit a range of theatre use situations. A virtual sound shell was also custom-fitted, delivering exceptional sound quality regardless of position.

Comfortably seating 2139 across three tiers, the auditorium is ideal for ceremonies, keynote presentations and conferences. Circulation space and function rooms surround the auditorium for larger, multi-room or multi-day events.

Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre is well-connected to the rest of Aotea – Te Pokapū | Aotea Centre and Auckland​, making it ideal for conventions. The foyer areas and adjacent rooms provide ample space for registration desks, exhibition stands and catering, along with offering the opportunity to run concurrent break-out sessions. A wide variety of entertainment, hotels, & restaurants are also within a short walking distance.

With both wired and wireless connections, the Stalls Foyer is particularly well suited to trade shows and exhibitions of up to 20 booths. The foyer can also be used in conjunction with the Hunua rooms for larger events.
