I travel a lot. This is, hands down, the strangest hotel I’ve stayed at that belonged to a mainstream franchise. Where to even start… The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are clean and tidy. There is a heating issue in the hotel right now, but they placed space heaters in every room, which did a good job keeping the rooms warm. However, that’s where “normal” ends and “absolutely bizarre” begins. --There are not enough parking spots for each room to have a single vehicle - nor is there any nearby parking available. There were times we had to circle around and hope someone left the hotel so we could get a spot. People were resorting to parking in the electric vehicle charging spaces in order to park at the hotel. --The drive/lane that takes you around the back for more parking is so small that it’s almost impossible to not take the curb. --Breakfast was an interesting experience. They have a lot of very basic breakfast food, which is fine. However, they have a single automated pancake machine that can only make like 8 pancakes before it needs to be refilled. This hotel has 3 floors of rooms, and the main breakfast food machine can only make 8 pancakes at a time. Also, they apparently don’t have enough seating for everyone, so they ask you to call down before you want to eat to make sure there is room. --The “pool” isn't a hotel level pool. It’s a tiny outdoor pool with, and I’m not making this up, two small round jetted tubs sitting on the patio that a person would have installed on their deck at home. They’re so small that it would be super awkward if you were sitting in it with anyone you didn't know. --Our room had no lock. Let me rephrase, it had a functional deadbolt in the door itself. However, there was no bolt hole in the door frame for it to go into. They literally installed the deadbolts in the door and didn't bore the holes in the frame for it to go into. --I work in IT and their wifi is the most insecure hotel wifi I’ve ever used. Most hotels have “device isolation” turned on so that no device can see or access another, the very basic security of public wifi. However, this place has “open” wifi, like you’d have at home, so that any device can not only see another, but can possibly access and control another. For example, each room has a smart TV connected to the wifi/network with Chromecast/Anycast enabled. Any guest can see and/or control what is on any other TV in the hotel. If you happen to have an android phone with Youtube and/or Youtube Music, and someone in the hotel is watching Youtube on their TV, your phone will now connect to their TV and you can see and control what they are doing. And that’s just the TV’s - I wont go into what else can be accomplished on an open wifi network. This type of network on a public hotel wifi is a major security risk. As such, I went down to the front desk and asked about it and showed them what I could do with just my cell phone. I was told it was open on purpose and that I shouldn't worry about it. Stunned, I immediately went back to my room and pulled all of our devices off their network. DO NOT, under any circumstances, use their wifi. --Their “kids area” is in the hallway by the balcony, where they have some basic toys to play with - not an actual dedicated space. It’s literally in the hallway. --You check in/out at the hotel’s bar, as in the place you order alcohol My advice? Avoid this hotel until they get their parking, door locks, breakfast, alarmingly insecure wifi, and parking figured out.

We had the best time staying at this hotel—our kids loved it so much they didn’t want to leave 😊 The rooms and bathrooms were clean and very well maintained, and even the laundry area was spotless. We especially enjoyed the two complimentary spa pools, which were a great bonus for our stay. The service was truly amazing. Although our booking was non-refundable, we had to cancel due to a cyclone—but the team kindly allowed us to reschedule. We originally booked two standard rooms, and upon arrival, they upgraded us to connected rooms, which was perfect for our family so we could eat and spend time together. They went above and beyond by helping us store ice cream in their freezer and even reheating food and delivering it to our room. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel. The location is perfect—close to shops and the places we wanted to visit—which helped us save a lot on petrol 😊

Wonderful as always. After a very stressful trip, the free room upgrade and breakfast was so appreciated. It was the highlight of my travel and made this morning so much easier with not needing to go elsewhere for breakfast before continuing on our way home. Being able to choose a pillow specific to our preference was so lovely. The continental breakfast was delicious with wonderful variety. Very highly recommend staying here. We will absolutely be back.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Staff were amazing and accommodating. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and the continental breakfast was better than we thought. Only suggestion is to improve the indoor children play area, it’s at the end of the corridor on level one, overlooking the main lobby, unfortunately not in a room as I had imagined. May work better for older kids but not for toddlers.

Great location and freindly staff. However it's just not a four star hotel the standard of room is not there. Generally run down, the shower didn't drain properly, shower glass dirty all the tap and showerware was burnished and old. No mattress protector a poor quality duvet inner with no cover and sheets. The mattress itself could use replacement, filthy windows, an old TV and thin walls not sure how often the air conditioning filter is cleaned either. While it was perfectly ok having stayed in hotels all over the world and New Zealand this executive king room was more a three or even two star standard so the cost just isn't justified. It's the little things that make a great hotel room. Probably wouldn't stay again sorry but only because of the room the staff are fantastic.
