Had a pre show dinner for 5 last evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was on point and each dish was superb! Great presentation, from the cocktail and entree to desert. We enjoyed the sharing platter, Whitebait entree, pork belly, salmon with sides- delicious. We even came back after the show for desert- Pavlova and crumble. All fabulous.

If you're looking for place that has a good atmosphere, menu variety, good food, professional and joyful staff, then this is the place for you! We made *reservations for a dinner for 3 at Dockside. On approach to the restaurant, you are met with a cosy Dockside table-top fire place at the entrance and the steady chatter from inside the restaurant. The *aesthetic of the establishment speaks to its name, a Dockside house, almost welcoming you into a good Hallmark Movie scene that is homely and relaxing! Our *Waiter's name was Cederic, a tall, young, gentleman from Germany, with a sense of humour that can only make your time at Dockside evermore fun! His attention to customer service is great! Perfect check-ins with clients (he was servcing at least 3-4 tables this evening) and left no time in clearing your empty plates and glasses. However young Cederic may be, he has a good grasp on quality service! Compliments to the *Chef, for their great food and excellent plating design (unfortunately no pics of plates sorry)! And portion sizes, Chef, you really know how yo feed people! Not too much or too little, perfection! The presentation and taste spoke volumes as my family and I ebdulged in desserts as well! We will definitely be returning to Dockside one of these days! Thanks for making our time so special!

Everything flashes " 5 ⭐'s " here. We Love the Waterfront location and one couple had an ocean view via a glass floor under their table next to us ✅. Fridays are " Fish & Chips " specials and by far the best battered, best fish , great tarter sauce combo I have had. We saw salmon entrees moving by , some charcuterie boards , " WHATABUZZ " going here. We got the last Wellington harbour view table inside , make reservations to be safe, we got lucky and the last table inside ✅. Agosto radiates goodness, and amplifies the already great experience. His recommendations came with a genuine tone, the staff served us promptly, and all the beverages, whether Perino beer, or Rose Fizz ( n/a ) or water the glasses were spotless - perfectly 🫧 clean. ✅ So reasonably priced, check slip was correct and a kind goodbye from the mgr. attending the cash register ✅ Winner Alert ; Dockside gets the 🏆, awesome experience everyone 👋 !!!

Food was yum, but not quite worth the high price point. Mains were delayed a little as the venue packed out and service wasn’t very attentive to smaller tables. Pork Belly had a little too much fat for my preference. View was lovely and have had a better experience previously.

A long story here … when I was a student doing a marketing degree back in the late 1980s… our group was involved in designing a dock side restaurant - with a nautical theme. Coincidence or not a number of our design elements ended up in the final product that was and still is Dockside! You could say this was my first of a life long foray into restaurants and restaurant design. Fast forward to- over the years have dined or had a few summer Vino at the restaurant. Most recently was a lunch and the service, food and the vino was outstanding. The waiter was 5 star poise, humour and etiquette rolled into one. Food was fresh and well thought out. Wine list nicely balanced. Price, suprisingly, quite affordable. Lunch being nzd550 for 7 people including a bottle of Sante Margarita prosecco.
