We had an amazing stay at TRYP wellington. Special thanks to Libbie for booking and recommending the King Studio for us. It was a perfect choice - an adequate size to comfortably accommodate the two of us for three nights. The entire experience was seamless. The pre-arrival check-in made our arrival super quick, which was great since we arrived quite late. The duty manager was extremely helpful too, providing clear information about parking and front desk hours. The room was spotless, and the whole facility was exceptionally clean. All appliances were in great working order, and the location was fantastic - close to everything we needed. The service throughout was outstanding, making us feel truly welcomed.

Multiple issues at this hotel. Firstly, Libie was an excellent host, we appreciated her efficiency, thoughtfulness and hospitality. Selma was the opposite and made things a lot harder than it had to be. Just let Libie run the place. No Windows - Some of their rooms don't have windows, especially the accessible rooms. Reading past reviews they say "it's listed on our website" so we checked but the website just suggests windows behind the curtains. It's fine to not have windows but false advertising isn't. Be very careful when you book. They try hide it. Safety - Sadly Wellington isn't as safe as it once was, and anyone can walk in and access most rooms without a key card with the lobby unattended. This breaches most corporate health and safety policies when traveling. They really should make access to the rooms area key card only. Smells - As per other reviews there is a foul smell in the bathroom in the mornings. I'm fairly sure the recent renovations are the cause with the bathroom excess drain pipe being interconnected to other rooms and not having water in its S bend to block the smell, so you'll smell your neighbours. Super easy fix but no idea why they haven't done it yet. Light and Noisy - If you're a light sleeper the outside lights beam in even with curtains closed, and you can still hear the road. All they have to do is fix the top of the curtain tracks. Bad build quality - I suppose this is an old building, but it's just being looked after - misaligned flooring with gaps and the window seals are peeling off. You'd expect better at this price point. We wanted (and left) early given the issues. However Selma refused to cancel the stay early despite our room policy and "you have to go back to the original room, we made an exception already". Libie was a gem, made sure we had a room with light while we could and arranged the early departure.

Stayed here a couple times on quick weekend trips to Wellington. Staff is available, friendly, and helpful. We communicated to the hotel about noisy neighbours at 1am and the night manager Arthur helped everyone out by moving the noisy party to a different room after everyone agreed.

Excellent We had a 2 bed apartment for 3 people. Modern, nice space, well equipped full kitchen. Plus the bonus of a reception (and decent coffee area) manned by nice staff - we had a request that Libie and duty manager were very helpful with. Housekeeping staff also very friendly. The space of an apartment, service of a hotel, at a decent rate. Also great location. Wins all round.

…and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you run a hotel. Great location, great rooms, friendly staff. Loved the whole vibe. We asked for a quiet room and they delivered. Loved the air conditioning. Loved the complimentary drinks in the foyer. Loved the 11am check out, we actually paid extra for another couple of hours. Loved the very competitive pricing. We’ll definitely be looking you up first next time. Keep doing what you’re doing.
