From checking-in to checking-out, nothing but issues. We we're checked in before we even arrived which was Rydges mistake but somehow tried to blame us. Had late check out: 12pm (through partner program) but we were locked out of our room at 10am. Entrees were served at the exact same time as mains. Had breakfast included (I even double checked this over the phone and upon check-in); first day no issue but second day big dramas saying it wasn't included. 3/4 of gym equipment is old and broken and doesn't work. No towels at pool. Forcing us to go find a staff member to provide. I could go on. When we checked out reception staff asked 'How was the stay?'. I told her everything I mentioned above and she keep saying 'That's ok' and couldn't care less. I sent Rydges Canberra an email outlining all the issues experienced through their website. No response. I followed this up with a second email through their website. No response. This has lead me to leave an honest review online as no attempts to discuss issues with me.

Our stay at Rydges was great 😊 The rooms & bathrooms were very clean! Very friendly workers, heating was working great which we appreciated as it was freezing 🥶 The beds we had were VERY soft, something to keep in mind if you prefer otherwise. Honeslty the only issue we had was the shower wasn’t draining in a normal/timely manner, so there was water all over the bathroom floor whenever we showered 😅 we wiped it down with the extra towels in the room. Not the biggest issue, maybe isolated to our room only but perhaps something management might want to check out. Hotel is also a short distance from other attractions in Canberra. We didn’t use any of the other facilities such as the pool/restaurant so I can’t comment on those! For the price we paid the hotel felt a lot fancier than we were expecting ! 😆

Rydges was a mixed bag for us this trip. Let's start with the good: 1. The staff member who checked us in was brilliant, some of the best customer service I have experienced. 2. The room was unexpectedly large and well fitted. 3. The vibe of the hotel was beyond expectations considering price point. That said, there was an issue we experienced that highlighted some significant cracks. The door frame to the bathroom was splattered with a dried reddish liquid (looked like blood or wine perhaps - see picture). These things can be missed, but potential bodily fluids are not our thing, so we asked for it to be cleaned while we were out in the afternoon. After returning home at 10pm, it was still there, and reception simply said it would be dealt with tomorrow. We asked again in the morning and showed the picture again, and it was promised to be addressed as we went out for the morning. Once again, it was missed, and we had to go to the front desk again to get someone in to clean it. Lots of effort and time from our end for an issue we viewed as a potential safety hazard (especially if it was blood). Overall, it was a great hotel with some issues with issue resolution and cleanliness. Would still say it represents good value for money, but be prepared for some rougher edges.

Rooms were as described. Staff were really fabulous. The catered food was very mixed (the pasta dishes were very bland, but other dishes on other days were quite good). It is a 10 minute walk to the nice restaurant strip. Close to parliament. Walkable to galleries. Nothing much nearby, but was convenient for me because i was utilising function facilities.

Our Embassy Suite booking was confirmed for a 2 pm arrival. We arrived at 3:30 and were asked to wait for 5 minutes by the first concierge checking me in who then disappeared after . Then only to finally find out 15 minutes later with the check in desk that our room would not be available for another half an hour with no reason given. Once in the room we had no heating and no cleaning products in the bathroom. I am a member of their loyalty program and have stayed in many Rydges facilities around the country and hands down this was the worst for customer service and preparation for the hotels designated arrival time. Also after following up twice I still have no receipt for my stay emailed through.
