Although we ended up in the Potting Shed restaurant it is still part of the Grounds. We where looking for a steak and the Shed is the only place you can get a steak at the Grounds. We ordered the $110 Bistecca at 700g, yep it was brilliant and very tasty indeed. The place on Saturday afternoon was packed. Check out the pics I posted for the atmosphere. Well worth a visit especially for the Bistecca.

Finally made it to the famous The Grounds! The coffee beans weren’t quite as amazing as I expected, and the matcha didn’t have that nice milk foam on top — a tiny bit disappointing, but honestly, the beautiful presentation totally made up for it. Everything looked so gorgeous it almost made the food taste better! Special shoutout to the croissant — absolutely loved it! The combo of kumquat jam, cream, and the cookie croissant was just perfect — sweet but not heavy, super satisfying. I ordered the corn fritters as well, and you can definitely tell they were deep-fried at a high temperature. A bit heavy for breakfast, but still flavorful. There was quite a lot of sour cream at the bottom, and I wish there had been a bit more avocado to balance it out. Overall though, I was really happy with the experience — lovely atmosphere, great vibes, and beautifully plated food. Totally get why everyone talks about this place!

Beautiful venue - we visited Santa for photos, grabbed a takeaway coffee, wandered the Christmas display in the laneway and finished up with lunch at the Potting Shed. Staff all over the Grounds were very attentive and helpful. The set up was absolutely stunning. Santa engaged really well with our 3 yo, who is usually quite shy when meeting someone knew (even her heroes). Highly recommend the whole experience.

Ice coffee was nice, the cake are really good although the strawberry one was sold out too soon (we were at the table at 2:45pm Sat). Staffs are very friendly and nice, the atmosphere inside the cafe is great. Recommend reservation in advance or you may need to wait for 30-40mins. Note: - Parking entry is from the Outlet side - The hallway with Xmas theme/decoration (only access with a receipt from cafe or the Garden bar) is a bit narrow, hard to take photos if peek hours or holidays.

The Grounds of Alexandria The Grounds of Alexandria is a Sydney institution that masterfully combines dining, design, and atmosphere into an immersive experience. Set in a repurposed industrial precinct in Alexandria, the venue feels like a whimsical escape — part café, part garden, part event space — where every corner invites discovery. Lush greenery, rustic brickwork, and vintage décor create a uniquely Instagram-worthy backdrop. The food reflects the venue’s farm-to-table ethos, focusing on freshness and presentation. The all-day menu balances comfort and sophistication, with standout dishes like the *Grounds Breakfast* (a hearty classic with artisanal touches) and the *Middle Eastern Lamb Salad*, full of texture and vibrant flavor. The coffee, roasted on-site, remains among the best in Sydney — rich, smooth, and consistently well-crafted. Weekends can be busy, and queues are common, but the attentive staff and efficient service help maintain a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The family-friendly setting, complete with farm animals and themed installations, adds to its charm. Whether you’re there for brunch, coffee, or an afternoon wander through the gardens, The Grounds of Alexandria offers more than just a meal — it’s an experience that celebrates community, creativity, and the simple pleasures of good food and good company.
