"Recently visited The Grounds of Alexandria for a family breakfast and I'm delighted to report that this iconic Sydney establishment has made an impressive comeback. As a long-time patron who has been visiting since 2018, I can confidently say that the breakfast quality has returned to its former glory. The period following the pandemic was admittedly challenging for The Grounds, with a noticeable dip in food quality that concerned many regular customers. However, management has clearly taken these concerns seriously and implemented significant improvements. The transformation is remarkable – every dish we ordered today demonstrated the same exceptional standards that initially made The Grounds famous. Our family was thoroughly impressed with our breakfast experience. The flavors were spot-on, portion sizes were generous, and the attention to detail in presentation was impeccable. It's refreshing to see a beloved establishment successfully overcoming post-pandemic challenges and returning to its high standards. The atmosphere remains as charming as ever, but now it's perfectly complemented by food that matches the venue's reputation. For those who may have been disappointed during the post-pandemic period, I strongly recommend giving The Grounds another try. They've definitely recaptured their magic, particularly in their breakfast offerings. 5/5 - A true return to form for one of Sydney's most beloved dining destinations."

As soon as I walked in, I was surprised to see sheep there, but it was a pleasant surprise. Since it’s known for its photo spots, there were a lot of people, and the decorations were even better than I expected, which was satisfying. At the entrance, we were greeted by a female staff member who was a bit curt, but I didn’t want to dwell on it too much. The desserts looked amazing, but we were there to fill our stomachs first, so we ordered the Mediterranean Bowl, The Grounds Beef Burger, and a milkshake. The drinks came with eye-catching decorations, which made it fun, and they said we could take the cups home after finishing the drinks! The food tasted fine—nothing extraordinary but enjoyable. Since the theme changes seasonally, I think it’s a great place for people who love taking photos. (I visited on July 31st, but it seems like the theme has changed now, so keep that in mind.)

Great atmosphere and classy magical garden decor. It is definitely worthy of its reputation as an ideal place for social media photos. However the food and service were just OK. Decent size portions. We went when it was pretty busy, so it took a very long time to get our orders.

Absolutely love The Grounds of Alexandria. The decorations change every few months or so and each time it is spectacular and beautiful to see. We love the cafe, and I especially love the avocado on toast with a poached egg, it is seriously so good and fresh tasting. The only downfall is that it can get really crowded and especially when there is a new installation in progress.

Gorgeously decorated large space that still feels small, homely and bespoke. FOOD: Great selection of burgers, salads, poke bowls, breakfasts, meats etc at reasonable $25-45 prices. They have good gluten free (chicken breast or Barramundi salads, polenta chips, lamb etc), vegan and vegetarian options. STAFF: Attentive but super busy. We called them over all the time for more drinks etc. They tend to a lot of tables on the weekends. ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair accessible although the bathrooms came be a challenge for anyone with a wheelchair/walker/pram etc. When booking I'd suggest letting them know if you need more space as many of the tables are very close together. OVERALL: Great space with many events taking place weekly, it's always vibrant (I wouldn't go here for a quiet meal). Great if you need space for a large group. We were a group of 12 and it was perfect. Will continue to come back.
