Good food, great drinks and live music. Staff are very efficient and attentive. Maybe more bar counters needed.

Updated Review Based on my previous unpleasant experience here, I honestly didn’t feel like coming back. However, yesterday, my friends and I decided to give it another try out of curiosity — and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service had improved a lot compared to last time. This time, the staff brought cutlery along with the first serving of Turkish bread, and the overall service felt much warmer and more attentive. I truly appreciate this change and the effort made to provide the correct level of hospitality. Because of this positive experience, I am happy to remove my previous review and update it to reflect the improvement. Thank you for showing that good service is possible here.

Friday night, 1 hour from ordering food to it arriving. Very very loud, unless you’re outside you can’t have a conversation. Better value to be found elsewhere

Guys, you have a primo location, stunning views and wonderful attentive staff. I have had more than a handful of excellent arvos and evenings being entertained by live music over the years. Your food quality lets you down though. Your menu is quite limited, so you should be doing the meals well. Today I had crispy skin Barramundi with Moroccan? salad. The skin on the Barra was indeed crispy and the fish well cooked. The salad was a fail, it had the appearance of the bagged salads from a supermarket with mixed leaves, red cabbage and shredded carrot which was dried out. There were pieces of eggplant scattered through the salad as well as something like pearl barley or sago to jazz it up. It was fairly priced for what it was, but I would assert that people will pay a little extra to have freshly prepared salad and flavourful sides.

I organised an event for 70 Red Hat ladies on Galentines day. It was a fabulous venue with a beautiful view of the harbour. The staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem for them . All the food was delicious with many of our ladies complementing the chefs. It's obvious they are used to catering for large groups as the food all came out in a timely manner and the bar staff were lovely and quick to serve our ladies. I would highly recommend Honeysuckle Hotel for your next Event. QUEEN CELLY RED HATTERS MAITLAND.

The Mezzanine Level
The Mezzanine level is located above the main bar and is available for full or part-floor hire. Both sides of the Mezzanine have private bar access. As this is an elevated level rather than an enclosed room, you are still very much a part of the main bar atmosphere and entertainment. This space is suitable for events of 40-220 guests cocktail.

The Harbourside Deck

Harbour Room
Positioned quite literally over the water, the Harbour Room at Honeysuckle Hotel offers one of Newcastle’s most iconic waterfront event spaces. Framed by full-length glass walls and perched on the edge of the harbour, this semi-private room provides uninterrupted panoramic views of the working port, docked cruise liners, and colourful coastal sunsets. With flexible layouts, bar tab options, and curated menus we can create a truly unique ambiance for cocktail parties, corporate functions, milestone birthdays, and engagement celebrations.
