I am a Hospitality teacher from Bathurst NSW. We recently took our Year 10 students to the STAR for a back-of-house tour and delicious lunch at the Harvest Buffet. Nick Brown, and the chefs who showed us through were amazing. They couldn't have been more informative and welcoming. The students got so much out of this experience. It isn't often that staff of busy Hospitality establishments offer their valuable time to do something like this. Thank you so much..the students have been singing your praises and telling everyone how great the STAR is. What a fantastic day.

Came here to see a show at the theatre and decided to have lunch at the food quarter beforehand. I can only describe the casino floor as a bit sad. It's dreary and the decor is dated. We saw there was a member discount on food so we tried to sign up for membership. There was a touch screen at the front of the food area so I entered my details. It then advised me to go to the service area to show my license as proof of ID. We had to ask a kind staff member for directions, as it was a short walk away from the food area and the screen didn't tell us where that was. There were airport style self serve machines which tried to photograph my license and then my face. Unfortunately it didn't work after 4 attempts so I had to join a queue for the service desk. I guess it didn't work for anyone else because the line was long and no one else were able to use the 20 self service machines. After waiting in the queue for 15 minutes with barely any movement, gave up and went back to the food area. In terms of food, the Asian options were preferable over the western food. I like the option for QR code ordering at the table. Had noodle soup and wontons which were nice.

The rooms are beautiful, beds are so comfy. I wish the bathrooms had a brighter light to make it easier to get ready in for a female its very orange/mood lighting. Buffet is great, the star is definitely an eye opener and is a must stop for any travellers passing through. Only downside with our visit was told twice once on the phone and phone at reception on check in that parking was included with our room and will be validated in morning only to get to check out in morning to be told we owe $40 for parking.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience at the front entrance by an elderly woman with an accent. I was told I was showing “serious signs of intoxication” simply because I lifted my dress slightly to adjust it around my chest. The woman at the door then claimed there was a “serious dress code,” even though our small group was dressed in full formal attire - suits, heels, and long elegant dresses, having just come from a wedding nearby at Doltone House. I hadn’t been drinking throughout the evening, which I mentioned upon entry, yet she laughed, accused me of “reeking of alcohol,” and told me to go inside and drink water because I was “too intoxicated.” My outfit was in no way revealing - it was extremely elegant. I was merely adjusting the chest area of my dress to make sure I was properly covered, which tends to happen when you’re on the bigger side. and somehow that was interpreted as a “sign of intoxication.” Completely absurd and humiliating. As someone with a naturally larger chest, I felt unfairly singled out and judged by this woman, who made unnecessary and baseless assumptions over nothing? To top it off, I had literally just come from a wedding - of course I might smell faintly of alcohol, as anyone attending such an event might - yet that was used against me. My behavior was entirely appropriate, I’m a very quiet woman, I don’t drink or go out often. Nothing about me was called into question except for the fact I lifted my dress to adjust it. Our group was extremely polite, quiet, well dressed, and simply trying to enjoy our night, and we were treated in a condescending, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary way. It doesn’t hurt to be nice

Hotel and Casino are incredible, an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. Casino is so fun, so many machines and tables to choose from. Hotel has stunning harbors views. I will be back soon. Thank you Star for an amazing time.
