⭐ Blackjack Brilliance at The Star – Thanks to Grant & Mitch! ⭐ My visit to The Star Casino was unforgettable, and not just for the dazzling atmosphere, sleek décor, and the buzz of excitement in the air—but for the outstanding hospitality and expertise of two incredible staff members: Grant and Mitch. As someone new to the world of blackjack, I arrived with curiosity and a fair bit of hesitation. That changed instantly once I met Grant and Mitch at the tables. Their approach was nothing short of brilliant—friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about the game. They took the time to walk me through the rules, strategies, and table etiquette with such clarity and enthusiasm that I felt completely at ease within minutes. Grant’s deep knowledge of the game paired with his calm, approachable nature made every question feel welcome, no matter how basic. Meanwhile, Mitch brought an infectious energy and encouragement that made learning fun, interactive, and surprisingly empowering. Together, they transformed what could have been an intimidating experience into a highlight of my night. I left not just knowing how to play blackjack, but loving the game—and that’s entirely thanks to them. To The Star: You’ve got two absolute legends on your team. We flew 25 hours to celebrate our 13 year anniversary here. The heat broke the first night and we woke up to a room so cold it solidified my wife’s body oils. The hot water doesn’t work well, lukewarm at best and we asked for pillows twice. We check out tomorrow and still haven’t received them. I certainly wouldn’t call this a 5 star hotel. The location, public transportation, and house keeping is fantastic but not having heat, hot water, or responsive service isn’t great (they were unapologetic when we notified them of the broken heat and upon arrival, a smartly dressed lady knocked as she walked in without giving us a moment to respond).

The ms and I stayed a few nights whilst visiting Sydney in early August and we had a fantastic time at The Star. Parking was free with in-and-out privileges which was amazing being in the Sydney CBD. The room was magnificent. The pool and gym amenities are amazing. Room service was delicious and very prompt on arrival from the time of ordering. Plenty of food options located on-site and around as well. Great value overall. The casino is a good outing for some adult entertainment if you're feeling lucky!

Stayed 2 nights - couldn't fault anything. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room was spotless, comfy bed. Ovely view. Breakfast at Harvest Buffet amazing - too much choice! Great assortment of places to eat. Location was great - Light Rail to the door from Central.

Loyal member, unlikely to return — hoping this reaches senior management. As a loyal and long-standing patron of The Star Sydney, I was extremely disappointed by a recent experience that has left me reconsidering my future with the venue. After a romantic evening with my partner, we walked from Chinatown to The Star intending to finish our night on a high note. I had one beer with dinner, was calm and respectful - yet I was refused entry on the grounds of intoxication. I was taken aback by the decision, which felt arbitrary and unjustified, especially given my behaviour and state. When I asked to lodge a formal complaint, the manager on duty, George Antonopoulis, did not refuse outright, although made the process appear diffult suggesting it wouldn’t be worth the effort and that he would need to take my number to follow up at a later time if am to proceed with process. This was a frustrating experience and frankly disheartening. What concerns me most is not just the refusal of entry, but the lack of a fair process or accountability in addressing concerns - particularly for loyal members who have supported the venue over time. I hope this feedback is received constructively and escalated appropriately. I still believe in the potential of The Star to deliver excellent experiences, but moments like this risk alienating the very patrons who have stood by the brand. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further if management is open to listening.
