My family and I stayed here to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Our daughter gave her experience 5 stars because when the staff found out it was her birthday, they were exceptional with thoughtful little surprises like the kids party bag at check in, the birthday cupcake at breakfast and the lovely koala toy at check out. Thank you for making our stay memorable and one we will never forget. We also rate the service and location highly, all staff we encountered were very present and attentive which we found helpful to the nice atmosphere. We also enjoyed the location, for us as a family we were able to walk to the tram stop to go into George St very easily, we enjoyed wandering around circular quay and the opera house in the evening and enjoyed getting Messina which was just around the corner from the hotel. My husband and I enjoyed an early morning jog across the harbour bridge and we all enjoyed the buffet breakfast it had lots of fresh options! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and the sauna. Although we didn’t use the gym, it looked great with a variety of gym equipment. As previously mentioned by other reviews the rooms could do with an interior refresh and it would be nice if they had a coffee machine with pods. However, they were practical, clean, tidy and the beds were super comfy. Overall, as a family we had a great experience and we definitely would stay here again. Thank you!

The overall stay was disappointing. Firstly, they didn’t upgrade my room even when i had an elite status. Secondly, they rejected my lounge access as they claimed the system didnt reflect my status. Thirdly, I was leaving at 4.30am in the morning to the airport so i asked for a full copy of my bill and room charges a day before and was rejected. They claimed they cant advance post a night and i have to wait for date roll and be emailed or approach the frontdesk before i leave for the copy. I’ve stayed at many properties and never had this issue before. I had a background in the Opera property system and there is a function for this anyway. The room was dated as expected for an older hotel. There was poop stains in the toilet which wasn’t cleaned. The frontdesk lacked the marriott hospitality which you would expect from the brand. The only good thing is the location, 2 minutes walk from the harbour. And also the hospitality from the club lounge. If you’re looking for a no-frills, motel style, stop-over for a night only, then this hotel is perfect. If not, i’ll never recommend this place

Great location but that's bout where it stops. For $400 a night I'd expect non-peeling wallpaper, a non rotted bathroom door and for vacuuming in the hallway not to occur at 5am. The rooms are dated, weathered and tired. There's a construction site across the road. The aircon does not maintain a consistent temp either. We had it set to 20. Within an hour both my partner and I where sweating thinking we where sick. The thermostat is currently on 17 and the room is not cool. For the price, it's not worth it. There is better for less.

The halls and carpets need to be replaced, it smelled musky on the room floors. The service was superb. Breakfast was a beautiful variety, wish it was warmer when I put it on my plate but the 2nd time, I dished out the bottom to get the warmer food. I didn’t have to drive anywhere since the Harbour ferry, light rail, train was 1 block away. Food was close by, it was the best location to everything I wanted to see. A place for to visit again for sure. I love that they have a lounge for early travelers and late leaving. It’s humid there so I appreciate I get to freshen up before and after my flight.

The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient and close to the main attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The Executive Lounge was a nice perk, offering a good selection of food. While it was enjoyable, it didn’t quite stand out as exceptional. However, the hotel entry and elevators could be quite busy at times, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the rooms were quite outdated. As an Elite Titanium member, I must say this was one of the most basic Marriott rooms and bathrooms I’ve experienced. The accommodations are in urgent need of an upgrade to meet the standards expected from the brand.
