Reviews for Shangri-La Sydney

Absolutely loved our stay, best hotel we’ve stayed in Sydney so far, we didn’t want to leave, can’t wait to go back. Horizon club was great. Views were incredible. Staff were absolutely amazing. Pool was a tad cold but still great. Height restrictions for hot tub/spa was a bit difficult for families with smaller kids (like us) but wasn’t a deal breaker. Great location, although a bit of a hill/stairs to climb, but good workout. I do think the staff really made it feel like home. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel with first-class service. From the moment we arrived, through departure, the staff was amazing and helpful. We had a harbor view room with unbelievable views of the Sydney harbor, including the harbor bridge and opera house. We got to see our cruise ship pull in from the comfort of our room! (See photo). Our only regret is that we only stayed one night.

Incredible and memorable are two words that come to mind. We had booked a harbour bridge view room in the Horizon club category with early/late check in and out. When our room was not yet ready, the warm and friendly reception staff member (Saskia) upgraded us to a room that felt like a once in a lifetime experience. We can’t thank her enough for making it such a memorable trip. We ended up in an incredible corner suite with sweeping views from the coast, across the harbour and all the way out to the Blue Mountains. We were so in awe of our room and the spectacular view that we barely picked up our books, rather we enjoyed sitting and chatting while watching the world go by outside. Next time we return, it will be very difficult to book a room now that we have experienced the incredible luxury of a suite. I highly recommend the Horizon rooms to get access to the Horizon lounge - especially if you are booking a lower category of room without much of a view. This lounge is a calm oasis throughout the day with complimentary drinks (tea, coffee etc) while enjoying the view. At select times you can also have breakfast (decent buffet selection not much smaller than the main buffet downstairs), afternoon tea (lovely scones, biscuits, light sandwiches etc) and canapés (dips, crackers, antipasto and some warm bites, as well as including beer, wine and spirits). I have stayed here many times before and had a lovely, restful experience; however, this time was such a treat and I cannot wait to return! Thank you again to the incredible staff for our lovely stay.

Very spacious rooms, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Beautiful bathroom and amenities. The entire hotel has a luxurious feel and it’s located in a very beautiful and historic area right in the city. Overall the service was very good and there were several moments where I was made to feel like a special guest. Very pleased to have joined the loyalty program as I will be staying again.

We were very happy during our stay here. The room was spotless and spacious with small living area with sofa bed and a great bathroom. The bed and room facilities were great. We had the opera house view and access to horizon club for Breakfast’s, afternoon tea and evening canapés which was great. The location is walking distance to all major attractions and the mall is about 10-15 minutes walk away through the beautiful city. Highly recommended.
