The rooms and amenities were amazing. Upon checking in I discovered I had received a free upgrade to a suite which was a major shock. I purchased a package which included sparkling and strawberries on arrival, parking and breakfast, which was all amazing. The staff were all lovely and welcoming and made everything easy. I am only deducting stars as following checkout I checked my credit card statement to find I had been charged for parking despite it being included in my package. I have reached out to the hotel to have this rectified and will update when I receive a response. Update: the hotel has confirmed the parking will be refunded!

Me and my husband had our 26th wedding anniversary stay here for 3 nights and we received first-class service from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The facilities were top-notch, and the view from our room was simply stunning. We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were luxurious and spotless. The hotel was in the perfect location, close to all the major attractions. Our stay was absolutely perfect. We can't wait to stay here again! I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We celebrated our 3-year marriage anniversary at the Shangri-La Hotel in Sydney, and it was truly unforgettable. Initially, we were hesitant to order food due to our lack of familiarity with the menu. However, everything changed when we met a wonderful staff member from Nepal who was part of the customer service team. He warmly guided us through the menu options and even took a lovely couple's picture for us, making our special day even more memorable. The food, hospitality, and overall service were top-notch. We're already looking forward to our next visit. A huge thank you to the entire team, especially the Nepali staff member who worked the afternoon shift on April 25th, for making our anniversary celebration truly special. The prices were also reasonable, making it an excellent choice. We can't wait to return to this amazing hotel.👏😊

We booked this hotel expecting a luxury stay with an Opera House view, but were incredibly disappointed. The view was awkwardly positioned in the corner and far from what was advertised. Throughout our stay, we were repeatedly disturbed by staff offering room service when we didn’t request it. Check-in was a frustrating experience—the payment system was down and we were left waiting far too long. For a hotel expensive than W Sydney, the service was shockingly poor. The front desk never picked up the phone when we needed assistance. There were no umbrellas in the room despite the rainy weather, and we were woken up early every morning by loud hallway conversations and noise from other rooms. After three nights, we barely got any proper sleep. For what’s supposed to be a 5-star hotel, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend staying here.

The Shangri-La Sydney truly lives up to its name, offering an unforgettable stay. The views from our room were simply breathtaking. Its location is perfect for exploring, with Circular Quay just a pleasant walk away (though the return uphill might be a consideration for some more mature travelers). Having traveled extensively, we were utterly blown away by the breakfast – genuinely the best we've ever experienced, surpassing even the Maldives! The freshness of the orange juice and the delicious, varied selection were outstanding. It's also a welcome touch that standard coffees, like lattes, are included. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The top-floor restaurant and bar boast magnificent panoramic views of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge – a must-see. We also enjoyed the heated indoor pool and the relaxing jacuzzi. Our only minor note, and certainly not enough to detract from the overall experience (we'd give them 10 stars if we could!), was the absence of sweet wine options like Moscato. However, this small detail aside, we will absolutely be returning to the Shangri-La Sydney.
