After driving up the east coast from Sydney with my mum and staying in various hotels/motels, our feelings on this hotel were mixed. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised as it had convenient parking ($30 per night), modern interior and a fresh floral scent. Unfortunately when we got to our room we were hit immediately with an old stale musky odour. The old style wall vent aircon seemed to also only have one fan setting which was low even tho is indicated medium and high. My mum started to feel unwell with the odour so we spoke to reception to see if we could move rooms. After trying another 2 rooms, we were told there were no other rooms available of our room type and they believed it must have been a product the cleaners used causing the smell so we settled on room 510 which did have a more modern aircon unit that worked. However the smell still persisted, so we ended up sleeping with the balcony door open to get some fresh air in. The room itself was ok, basic, good sized beds, the balcony could do with having a chair on it so you can enjoy the view, a safe would have also been very beneficiary so we didn't have to take our valuables with us at all times. On a positive the Banquet dinner no 1 was really lovely and a reasonable price aswell! However, breakfast let the hotel down again as the cooked options were mediocre, there wanst any herbal tea or hot water on offer so i had to ask and the tea and coffee available were in a flask pre made stewing all morning. We would have expected from a 4 star hotel to have a coffee machine available. Lastly, the rooftop pool and gym has beautiful views just would have been nice to be able to look out the windows, at sunset all you can notice when the sun hits them is how dirty they are. Location was great, next to the park, along the free bus loop and a short walk into the city. Wouldn't take alot to make this hotel great.

The ladies at the front desk were polite and soft-spoken and very helpful. The rooms were clean and organised. The rooftop pool was absolutely stunning, with the view of the city, especially the view of the city at night with all the lights was just mind blowing! Check in and check out was quick and easy due to the ladies being amazing and kind hearted, we come to brisbane once a year for my son's hospital appointment and will be staying again and again! And will be 100% recommending to others! What an amazing place to stay at, it was hard to get in the car and leave. Was absolutely beautiful!

We booked a mystery flight for our anniversary where flights and accomodation are included. We were lucky enough to be staying at HGC in Brisbane. From the moment we checked in, everything ran smoothly. Jo (I think that was her name) was so polite and helpful. The city map, buffet breakfast vouchers & complimentary chocolate were a nice touch that we really appreciated. The room itself was so tidy & it smelt absolutely wonderful whenever we walked in (I need the name of the air freshener!!) the pool area is great & there was a gorgeous view as well. We will definitely be staying here when we come to Brisbane in the future. Thanks Jo for everything. You truly made our stay the best with your attention to detail.

Our stay was amazing and well catered for. We came to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. I just mentioned it to them on phone and they went far and beyond and kept a complimentary bottle of wine and some snacks for us to enjoy. The view was great from our room. Everything else was perfect as well.

Great little spot for a quick trip to Brissy. Easy to get on the free bus just down the hill to get right into the city. Nice views from the higher up levels. Beautiful city views from the roof top too. Not the nicest pool but the kids had fun. Across the road from the Roma street parkland. Parking and breakfast was included making for great value. All the staff were friendly. Our 2nd stay, and we will be back.
