This was a complicated experience. On arrival, we waited more than 15 minutes to check in, as the system was apparently restarting. We were then taken to a room that seemed to be unprepared for our arrival, as it was missing a few key amenities. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning, as the system was broken. After mentioning it for the second time, we were given another room. The front desk, upon assigning the room, told us that housekeeping had already taken our luggage to the next room, which was not true. After moving into the new room, it was a big improvement. This room actually had a hair dryer. However, the pool and gym are closed at the time of writing, and the construction work is quite loud in the morning. Once the room was sorted, it was quite nice. However, service was hit or miss, with some being very helpful and wonderfully kind, and others showing some inexperience or general confusion. The location is very good if you enjoy the valley, but if you want to see aspects of the CBD, it's a bit of a walk.

This hotel seems more of a four star hotel than a five star hotel. There was no one to help us with our luggage, our car was supposed to be waiting for our departure, as we where leaving really early, but we had to wait for the car to be brought. In the room, the bathroom definitely needs to be updated.

For a 5 star hotel, this place isn’t great. The rooms are spacious and clean but very limited services. Amenities are available only upon request. The staff is nice but the service was not great. I had to ask 3 times just to get a laundry bag that wasn’t replaced in my room when I checked in. Additionally, there doesn’t seem to be any managerial oversight for the way the rooms are refreshed in between guests or any check that the equipment is working. My phone wasn’t working and it took me asking the front desk several times before they sent someone from maintenance to look into it. Lastly, the hotel is located in Fortitude Valley and while it’s safe it didn’t feel like it was super safe to walk around at night. Just about the only nice perk was the complimentary self service laundry machines you can use.

Wry pleasant experience. I had to arrive at 6am due to my only flight option. My room was obviously not yet ready but they gave me a free upgrade. Exceptional. Anyways nice rooms with a special touch and good location too. Super friendly staff.
