My husband and I have been celebrating our anniversary at The Star and The Darling for 20 years this year. We’ve also celebrated most birthdays there, and each visit has always been made so special. Over the years, the wonderful staff have gotten to know our family and always make us feel genuinely welcome. We highly recommend both The Star for the perfect weekend getaway, family holiday, or memorable milestone celebration. A big thank you to the entire team — we’re already looking forward to returning to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Twenty years of memories at The Star and The Darling!

Horrible service at the Members sign up, my dad who comes to visit me from overseas always want to stay at The Star when possible. The playing rules have changed to when he used to visit and now you have to be a member to play. After queuing up for a while, he was told that it takes 2-3 weeks to be approved and when he asked why as he is a tourist and will be gone already by then, instead of explaining properly why, security was called and he was escorted out without giving a reason. So arrogant, and we booked for 6 nights here as well. He was looking forward to this trip but was treared poorly. Save your time and money for places that have better customer service and don't do power trips. We went to the Crown and was told of a possible explanation but their system allowed to be thoroughly checked and validated the same day with no issues. They weren't rude and have better communication skills.

I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by the way I was treated at the roulette table today. The staff immediately assumed I was suspicious, publicly humiliating me in front of other customers. The staff member went straight to checking the cameras with her manager to see when I placed my card on the table. absolutely pathetic, you can easily refuse my service, DO NOT TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS WITH DISRESPECT. Do not assume customers are suspicious. This is my hard-earned money. Treating people like criminals without evidence is unacceptable. Checking camera footage in this manner is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. This venue has shown a complete lack of professionalism and basic respect. I have never experienced such disgraceful service in my life. Making instant assumptions about customers is wrong, unacceptable, and reflects extremely poorly on your staff and management. If anyone wants to go to the star please DONT EVER GO TO THE STAR, NO WONDER WHY IT WAS QUITE.

Hands down one of my favourite hotels in Sydney for a luxury stay. Service is consistently professional, check-in is smooth, and the breakfast remains a standout with excellent variety and quality. One area for improvement would be relocating the Star Club desk outside the casino. While travelling with a young child, I was unable to enter the casino to resolve membership account issues and had no alternative option. On recent visits, room maintenance has been inconsistent. This last stay was particularly surprising, with a broken toilet seat and a non-functional bathtub stopper, which was disappointing and not in line with previous experiences. As a result, this stay felt closer to low rating experience. Yet, overall it remains a great property, and with better attention to room maintenance, it would easily return to five stars. I would happily return again :)

If I could give the service a 100/100 I would! Rachel in particular has been the most amazing, caring and helpful person I’ve met. Always going above and beyond. The rooms are also very clean and beautiful. I would recommend to anyone coming to visit Sydney or just a get away!
