Last Friday night, we dined at South City Wine, and it was such a great vibe. We brought our puppy with us, and the staff were so friendly; they even brought a bed and water for him. The service was attentive, and the wine was excellent. The highlights of the night were the l’orange sauce and the venison tartare. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, though the sides were a bit disappointing. The potato bake was nice and creamy inside but slightly overcooked (almost burnt) on the outside. I was excited to try the pistachio profiteroles, but they were a bit too crispy and overcooked. Overall, it was a really good experience, and we’ll definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Celebration dinner last night at one of our favorite places. Every plate was delish ! Sourdough, Beef tartare, Mortadella Soldier, Panfried Gnocchi and Duck A L’orange! We’ve loved exploring the seasonal menus over the years. The staff are always so wonderful and such a great atmosphere

Everyone has been so lovely and accomodating! Food was a 10/10! Venue is stunning. Everything we’ve ordered did not miss at all. My friend who has never had escargot instantly loved it. Highly recommend! Thank you to everyone at South City!

South City Wine Bar & Bistro in Woolloongabba is a rare gem in Brisbane. The food was nothing short of exceptional – beautifully crafted, full of flavour, and plated with care. The playlist was also spot on, perfectly curated to match the vibe of the space. But what really makes this place stand out above the rest is the staff. Service here isn’t just good – it’s the best I’ve experienced anywhere in Brisbane. From the warm welcome to the attentive details throughout the evening, everything felt effortless yet genuine. A special mention must go to Sarah, the manageress, who has an incredible way of making you feel like a VIP while keeping everything running smoothly. And the gentleman with the ponytail, Dave, was equally outstanding – professional, personable, and clearly passionate about hospitality. It’s rare to find a venue where the food, atmosphere, and service all hit the highest standard – but South City Wine Bar & Bistro delivers exactly that. Highly recommend. Delicious food at great value! We used firstable to get 50% off the food bill, so we only spent $102.50 in total! The waiter was very nice and kind!
