Reviews for Novotel Barossa Valley Resort

We had a short two night stay, we ate dinner at the restaurant which was really lovely. The weather was unseasonably warm so our teens made use of the pool. The staff were very helpful with advice on which wineries were best to visit with the kids and the advice was spot on. The two bed apartment was comfortable and well appointed.

Very peaceful and beautiful surrounds. Really friendly staff, always happy to help. The restaurant food for dinner was lovely and the views from there are so calming and relaxing. We also used the pool which was so refreshing. Loved our 2 day stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. Plus our room was spacious, nice and clean with great views. Hopefully we will be back one day soon.

Up on arrival, we queued at reception. We were told - they can't serve any dinner even if you are staying here because they are booked out! I tour around the world and this was the first place that did not have provision for inhouse guests!!! Glad we had a dinner booking elsewhere! The Novotel location was great but when you consider the basic amenities versus the value, it was definitely overpriced. We chose not to have breakfast, at 40 dollars - its ridiculously overpriced. There are better options in Tanunda to eat at to support the local economy for meals during your stay in the Barossa. It was way better, local ingredients and much cheaper! The only positive for us was the location. The balcony was great for drinks with a view and early morning was beautiful.

We chose to celebrate our 27th Wedding Anniversary by spending a weekend at The Novotel Barossa Valley Resort. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome and were pleasantly surprised to receive a beautiful cheese platter to enjoy in our room. Our room on the second floor was beautifully presented, quiet and intimate. The view from our balcony was spectacular. We spent our first evening enjoying a beautiful meal ordered to our room from the Novotel restaurant and followed by watching in house movies. Totally relaxing intimate and pure escapism. Our final morning we were rewarded with a stunning sunrise. Highly recommended food for the soul.

We travelled from QLD to explore the Barossa Valley, and thought we would treat ourselves to a beautiful night’s stay at a luxury resort. Well this wasn’t the place for that experience. From checkin it wasn’t a welcoming experience at all, both ladies at the counter were on the phone, but didn’t acknowledge my presence. The rooms are comfortable, but not $350/night comfortable. The restaurant, set menu, and the food was average. The lamb Wellington was over cooked, the lamb was grey and the pea puree was bland and not pleasant. My husbands steak was overcooked, (you need to explain that the steak is paper thin and there is no way you could offer the steak cooked to our liking of “rare”) The most pleasant part of my meal was my broccoli side ($12 for a bowl of broccoli) There is nothing welcoming about this resort at all. The room didn’t have any mini bar options or even water in the fridge. Very overpriced hotel that doesn’t meet expectations from people wanting to experience this beautiful part of the world.
