Reviews for Garden State Hotel

Went after work on a weekday. There was a good vibe, but the place isn’t very clean. Didn’t help that we got bird poo on our table twice whilst we were eating. It’s a little more typical that you would order via the QR code on the table, otherwise head to the bar to order. The food was just normal, minimum requirement for taste and value of the meal. Don’t think we’ll be needing to go back here for a while.

it looks normal from the outside, but inside it's massive! You could probably play a game of cricket in the central area, which is, get this, outdoors but indoors. It's like they couldn't decide between a beer garden and a fancy hotel, so they just went with both. The tap situation is top-notch, and the food and bar snacks? Decent. Not gonna change your life, but they'll keep you from getting hangry while you're enjoying the, uh, indoor-outdoor experience. Definitely worth a look if you're in Flinders Lane and need a place with space.

Prettiest garden bar we’ve ever been to!! Loved the vibes of their beer garden SO much, and their food and drinks were amazing. Such a perfect place to catch up with your friends over drinks! 🍔 Southern fried chicken burger 🍗 Southern fried chicken 🍄🟫 Mushroom arancini 🍕 Pepperoni pizza 🍗 Chicken parmigiana 🍹 Pornstar martini 🍸 Lemon lime bitters Our fav was the arancini!! Really flavorful and cooked to perfection. Can’t get enough of it!! Another one of our favorites was their porn star martini. Def a must try if you like sweeter cocktails like we do. Their portions were reaaally generous and huge too.

Had a great time at Garden State Hotel! The venue is stunning, with a beautiful multi-level layout and a lush beer garden that adds to the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The food was impressive—everything was cooked perfectly, packed with flavour, and served in generous portions. I tried a mix of their dishes, and each one delivered. The Wagyu Cheeseburger with gravy was rich and juicy, the Southern Fried Chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, and the Fish & Chips had a perfectly golden batter. Even the Fried Curry Cauliflower was full of bold flavours. To top it off, I had a refreshing Melon Dollar Baby and a pint of Pepsi Max. If you're looking for a great spot in Melbourne for good food, drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere, this place is definitely worth checking out! What I ordered: - Soft Drink Pint (Pepsi Max) - Wagyu Cheeseburger (with gravy) - Southern Fried Chicken - Fried Curry Cauliflower - Fish & Chips - Melon Dollar Baby - GSH Mushroom & Chickpea Burger

Needed a bite in the city, so dropped in. The door security were super friendly and inviting. It’s mostly counter service so you need to either QR or bar service. But anyone else that came to our table was super friendly. They had a great band on (well 2 piece band), but the acoustics are tricky in there, so it was hard to talk and catch up properly. Perhaps because it wasn’t super busy to absorb the sound. Food was GREAT. Not a huge dish and pricey, but JUST enough.
