Reviews for Village Cinemas Southland

Great cinema to take kids to, especially for their first time or if like me it was their first movie ever & autistic so I was worried about his stimming. Happy to say I don't think he bothered anyone. Other positives were the slide that's in the cinema, it's open for ½ hour before the movie & also during the intermission which was also a plus for a movement break! They had 3 different types of seating to choose from, we went the beanbags because my boy loves a beanbag so perfect the only downside they weren't what I would expect & not big enough or comfy for an adult!

This is a review that reflect Josh and Josh only. - His service, attitude and ability to assist us with questions was honestly so great. He is a great dude and deserves a bit of recognition! - more hospo + retail staff should reflect him. Thank you brother! (Not a 5 ⭐️ review of extremely expensive popcorn and snacks + drinks) that’s a whole other thing… 🤣

if i could give this place negative stars i would. i love to come here with my friend weekly, and it was always tradition i get the large combo (popcorn and drink) and my friend would get a bag of lollies and a drink. The rise of the prices has frankly broken my heart and has put a strain on what was once a beautiful cinema experience. i remember the price like the back of my hand $18 for the large combo. So could you imagine my grief when i come to enjoy my weekly cinema experience and my beloved combo was increased by $2. i can’t believe what this world has come too, my weekly movie night ruined.

I had a very disappointing experience at Village Gold Class Cinemas in Southland during the 9:20 PM session. We had pre-ordered the 5-course snack menu, spending over $100—excluding the ticket price. While the grilled corn was enjoyable and the popcorn was great, the rest of the meal fell far below expectations. The southern-style chicken appeared to have been sitting in the bain-marie for far too long—it was dry and tough to chew. The cheeseburger had an unpleasant taste and did not resemble beef at all, likely pre-cooked and served hours later. Our order also included fish tacos and passionfruit cheesecake. However, towards the end of the movie, we were informed that the kitchen never received our full order due to an issue, and as a result, we were only offered two desserts as a substitute. Unfortunately, the dessert was also disappointing. The sauce served with the cheesecake tasted off and was quite unpleasant. Overall, this experience has left me regretting my decision to dine at Gold Class. I would not choose to eat there again.

So we received a very generous gift from my partners parents for a Gold Class experience voucher. Instead of there being a price cap on how much you order there they decide to dictate to voucher users what they can and can't purchase with this voucher. So we it was a very hot day and we were only able to order one beverage each with it. Then we were able to select five menu items. No popcorn. You think that would be an option but..no. The food came out. The Garlic and Rosemary bread tasted like it had gone from freezer to microwave definitely not nice or fresh. The food was TERRIBLE!!!
