Stayed one night prior to heading out to Sydney, this property is exactly what you need for that amount of time. Clean room, direct service and a great location. Room size is smaller than most HIE locations but for one night we were able to manage as a family. Didn’t have breakfast but the FD made some good hot chocolate for the nippy night.

I usually stay at Holiday Inn whenever I stay in Melbourne for seminars/conventions due to their location , great value for money and usually I am happy with their service as well. But this time, I am very disappointed. First, my room was missing a kettle so I asked for one at the front desk and luckily they were able to find one. Disgustingly, it was very dirty so I called front desk and this time delivered a decent one to my room. Hopefully, next time before you give any item to your guests, please make sure they are clean and compliant to the health and safety standards. Next, I asked my room to be made up. Yes, they made up the bed but the cups that were used the night before were still there and wasn't replaced with a new one. Isn't this one of the things the house keeping does when making up the room, making sure that the guests have clean glass/cups to use and replenish the lacking amenities? I hate giving bad reviews but those were unacceptable. I am not asking any more that the minimum standard that should be given to any guest staying in a decent hotel like Holiday Inn. I hope that this will make their overall service better next time.

The hotel is located very close to the train station and tram station, so it's very easy to get around without a car. We parked our car in the carpark next door. The checkin was easy and all the staff very friendly and helpful The room was clean and spacious enough for all 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids), with a hot shower and all amenities needed. We loved the view from our room on the 28th floor, especially at night with the city lit up. Complimentary breakfast was great, all we needed for a good start to a day of sightseeing. The kids enjoyed the cereal and pastry selection, the adults the coffee and continental style food like eggs and bacon, beans, etc. I would highly recommend HI Little Collins street. We will be back.

Stayed at the hotel from the 18th to 22nd April and was glad when booking that the hotel does have parking available for $35/day. Getting to the car park was easy and plate recognition allows us to exit and enter without hassle. The booking and payment process was also easily done through accessing a website through a QR code. I won't say the room is great, but it was very decent for the price, including breakfast which wasn't anything to shout about, but decently good. Location wise, it's very near to the southern cross station and easily accessible to tram lines which are within short walking distance. There is washing machines and dryers on the 1st floor and they are fast in the washing and drying processes. Thumbs up! The only improvement that I would suggest is the elevator. 1) suggest that cleaning staff don't load 2 carts in one lift, especially during morning hours when guests are trying to get back to their rooms after breakfast. By going 1 at a go allows guests to also return to their rooms instead of crowding at the lift lobby. 2) since only 2 of the lifts can access the car parks, the wait for one that goes down to the car park was a little frustrating as the ones that go to the car park bypasses since the ones that don't arrive on the floor we are at and stays there till we have to enter and press a higher floor for it to leave and allow us to press the down button again. May be good to have the sets of lift buttons separated instead.

Location: Good, if you are planning to travel within the free transit zone as trams are available on Flinders, Spencer and Bourke streets bordering the hotel, or if you plan to use the Southern Cross train/bus station next door or need the SkyBus to the airport. Otherwise, the popular malls are very far to walk. Food: Small affordable Japanese and Korean restaurants available on the ground floor. Rooms: Clean and compact with minimal amenities in-room. This a green hotel, so extras like bottled water and toiletries are not provided in-room. Basic toiletries are complimentary from reception. Good idea which reduces waste in hotel rooms! Breakfast: Complimentary with average hot and cold food, beverages. Can be quite busy during peak hours, go early. Service: Very friendly and courteous staff at reception. Singling out Ms Pinky who was very understanding and accommodating when I had a minor problem with my room heating. Very professional and prompt with service recovery. Shout-out also to technician John for going out of his way to check on the heating in my new room before I changed rooms. Pleasant start to my holiday! 5☆ review! I have updated my review after my brief interaction with the manager at reception. She was curt and abrupt and made no effort to pretend to be friendly.
