Reviews for InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto

Amazing hotel staff. Would love to give a big shout to the 2 lads who worked at night was there. It was a kiwi guy (really big dude) and rohan? I cant recall their names now but wow. They basically attended to my shower issues where the tap was not working functionally as supposed to. Even brought in ice to assist with my wife's fever. Forever respectful. And the lovely ladies at the breakfast hall! From remembering our names to room numbers so we dont have to check in at breakfast again and again and even remembering our coffee orders! The staff at intercontinental is spot on and ever ready to assist! Room is a bit dated? But clean nevertheless. Shower issues when you change to the handheld shower as pressure is low, so it keeps reactivating the rainfall shower. But other than that fantastic all around. And yes a member of the chain, they do make you feel special!

This hotel is amazing, from the ambience of the lobby/reception area, welcome from front desk staff, to the rooms, all superb. Food and service in the lounge has been first class, the main restaurant and bar is spacious and classy. Some of the gym equipment could do with modernising (spin bike?} but really minor point. It's my first time back in Melbourne for 6 years and first stay here, but would jump at the chance to come back.

The Intercontinental Melbourne is a stunning hotel located in the CDB. We stayed for 3 nights recently. Check in could best be described as clumsy as Reception staff disputed the structure of our booking, nightly 'turn down service' was missing even though I asked housekeeping face to face for this service and we had to request additional towels as they weren't replenished after cleaning. On a positive note the Club Lounge was stunning and the staff warm, welcoming and service impeccable. Although not a hotel issue we were harangued by several taxi drivers who were out the front of the hotel and we had to return to the hotel to seek help from the concierge.

We spent 3 nights at the Intercontinental and found it to be an overpriced budget hotel. We initially booked for 2 nights and then added an extra night. We had a $50 credit to spend and as we were the same two people in the same room and connected the bookings, we assumed we could use it whenever during the stay. But the duty manager said we could only use it on certain dates, something that wasn’t communicated at the start. This is exactly the mentality of a budget hotel - strict rules, additional fees, to make money from travellers. I’ve stayed here regularly for work but will now be finding an alternative hotel in the CBD. Very disappointing from the staff.

We had a truly wonderful stay on 22 September. The hospitality and attention to detail exceeded our expectations, and the thoughtful surprise arranged for my wife’s birthday made the occasion especially memorable. Thank you to the team for creating such a delightful experience for us.
