Great location for the markets, and having a tram stop on the doorstep makes it easy to get to anywhere you would like to go to. The room had a king bed that was super comfortable. The bathroom and shower was a little on the small side but all that you need. Nothing was to hard for the staff, all of the requirements were handled with ease and a smile.

Nice, sheik, affordable little hotel. Helpful staff, clean facilities and rooms, as well as a great location near the tram, QVM, cafes, and many food options. It is a 'what you see is what you get' type of hotel, no thrills nor any complaints. We booked the Family Suite and the images on their website represent exactly what the rooms are like. The only very minor complaint would be that the room was very dark, and when the curtains were closed, you didn't really know if it was day or night.

Overall I was impressed with this hotel and the price point for the quality compared to other hotels in the CBD. It's a great location next door to Queen Victoria Market, many restaurants and is walkable to the river. The rooms are comfy and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. They did, however, authorize a large hold on my account without notifying me beforehand and I still have not had the money released even after leaving. Thankfully this didn't ruin my vacation as I had access to other money but for a traveler on a budget, withholding around $500 USD could have been a disaster. The longer this goes on, the more I think on my experience at Jasper, and read reviews with similar issues, the more curious it becomes. This is an ongoing systemic issue for them, not the oops we can't explain what happened excuse they gave me. Also, their stories changed multiple times during my stay and the solution they promised never materialized. Also, why would they authorize such a large amount and extend the date well past the conclusion of my stay? I stopped at a hotel in Honolulu and the first thing the clerk said was we will authorize a $50 charge to your room which will be immediately returned when you leave if you consent. This should be the industry standard for professionalism. Addendum -- after not seeing a reversal as promised, I wrote to their email address; their response was we have reversed the hold but need your credit card number and expiration date to issue a refund. I'll just wait for the natural hold to expire as confirmed by my bank and then never visit this hotel again. You just can't go cavalierly handling people's money without their consent in this manner even if it is ultimately reversed. I've effectively given you a two week interest free loan. The money was finally reversed 4 days after my departure. How about some interest?

Stayed there a few weeks ago and it has taken me a while to work out how to phrase it. The rooms were so gross. There was over 20 hairs in the bed. They refused to change the sheets saying it wasn’t there job. Handed me one sheet to change the bedding, had to ask for two More sheets.None of which was the right size and also ask for pillow slips. I asked for a new room only to find out the new bed had hair between the sheets also. So terrible. The next night they upgraded me to a nicer suite. No apology or taking ownership for the issue. I would have expected to offer to give money back. Very surprising. And sad. We spent thousands renting their conference space which was handled poorly. Didn’t even tell us we had extra space available to us. The large conference room was nice though and someone was there to help us when needed. I get that they were embarrassed possibly but go out of your way for the customer when it is so clear that you have done wrong.

Be aware. Very aware. Never ever been demanded to pay a $200 cash bond even with checking in with Visa card. Front desk men, not women, absolute disgraceful. Now have to wait 28 days for a refund of bond. Rooms fantastic, service disgusting, actually considering reporting them to tax office for black economy and fair trading
