We recently had our wedding at The George Ballroom. I often joke that I had a shortlist of venues already prepared by the time my now-husband (surprise) proposed, but this is the truth and The George Ballroom was number 1 on that list. As soon as we stepped into the ballroom, we decided there and then that that was the space for our special day. Beautiful as they are and will be, pictures will not do it justice as you'd have to be there in person to really take in just how stunningly gorgeous the space is. The heritage space with its worn walls and high ceilings is a dream come true. A lot of our guests commented that it gave 'Bridgerton vibes'. It's beautiful enough that you wouldn't need to do much for additional styling and decor - the staff at The George Ballroom will have your back with this especially if you're planning your own wedding like I did! The entire process of planning the wedding, from the start, to the final weeks leading up to the day, and the day itself was seamless. For this, we owe a great debt of gratitude to our venue event coordinator Samantha Trudgett, and also to Molly Barton who set things in motion for us at the start. Samantha was always readily available and responsive, professional, insightful and super organised. She took the initiative to make sure that things were running smoothly on the day and where needed, offered helpful suggestions using her wealth of wedding event experience and expertise. My maid of honour also commented on how helpful she was. Most importantly, Samantha made me feel reassured and at ease and kept my anxiety of planning things at bay in the period leading up to the day. The food was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary menu tasting dinner. Selecting our courses for the event was challenging with so many good options! We had guests from all over the world and they all loved the food. We had quite a large percentage of dietary requirements in the group and all were met without any issues. The staff were all so lovely and warm. We cannot recommend the lovely team at Damm Fine Foods and The George Ballroom enough! Thank you for making our dream a reality! Lib and Phil

Getting to work with the team at the George was easy, reliable and most of all always timely. The beautiful venue hosted my event and with ease we had everything we needed to make the night a fun and successful one. If you are looking for a 5 star venue in Melbourne for your event, look no further!

From the moment we stepped foot into The George Ballroom, we knew it was the wedding venue for us. Simply stunning. But to go with the beautiful venue, is the delicious food, and great service of all the staff. Our event co-ordinator, Ashleigh, was fabulous, we felt completely at ease knowing everything was taken care of for us. Nothing was too much trouble. A truly memorable day for both my husband and I, and all of our guests. Highly recommend to anyone considering this venue for their event.

We had our wedding reception at TGB and it was nothing short of outstanding. Molly B was so easy to deal with, and just lovely. The venue is stunning in and of itself - a draw card for us. Their contracts state it is sound limited but everyone actually thought the music was really loud (a plus!). Food was great, and we liked that damm fine food held a tasting prior. One piece of feedback - the bridal suite is not suitable / needs more privacy - which we knew prior to booking but it wasn’t going to stop us having our wedding there. If a proper room was built out with privacy and doors not screens, that would be great as we felt we did not get privacy with waiters walking through. Aside from that, loved it, regret nothing! 💒

We recently hosted a wonderful wedding (ceremony + reception) at The George Ballroom. The space itself is stunning and our guests were full of praise for its heritage beauty and also the generous food servings on the night. Our event manager Victoria was incredibly supportive, responsive and efficient throughout the planning process, and the event staff were also very professional and helpful. We would definitely highly recommend The George for weddings and other celebrations alike.
