Reviews for Hellenic Museum
Sonia Thomas (Marriage Celebrant)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the absolute pleasure of conducting another wedding at the Hellenic Museum, and once again, it completely exceeded all expectations. This stunning venue, right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, truly captures elegance, charm, and history all in one. The outdoor ceremony area is simply breathtaking-set beneath the most magnificent and grand oak tree I’ve ever seen. It provides the perfect blend of natural light and soft shade, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere for couples and guests alike. The indoor spaces are equally beautiful, offering versatility and comfort no matter the weather. The Hellenic Museum staff are outstanding -professional, warm, and an absolute delight to work with. They go above and beyond to ensure everything runs seamlessly, which makes such a difference on a wedding day. What makes this venue so special is not only its beauty but also its rich history and cultural depth. It adds a unique sense of meaning and character to every celebration held there. I highly recommend the Hellenic Museum for weddings, it’s a true gem in Melbourne, perfect for couples who want a setting that is both naturally stunning and historically captivating. An unforgettable experience every single time!

The museum was really cool and had loads to look at. For $16pp entry, it's definitely worth it, especially on a rainy day. Some more seating would have been nice to enjoy the displays and the visuals on the screens but overall a great experience and the staff were super friendly.

Had a great experience today at the Hellenic museum. Lady at the front was incredibly helpful and kind. I was amazed at their collection of Ancient Greek Artefacts. Here are some must see pieces. Definitely a very well displayed exhibition.

A great place to expose yourself to ancient greek history through recovered artifacts and sculptures. You can spend about 1-2 hours here, unless you are going into a lot of the details.

Went to the Museum a few weeks ago, now. I enjoyed all of the exhibitions thoroughly. The thing I personally had an issue with was the 'Oracle' display. As a practicing hellenic polytheist, I take all things greek mythology very seriously, and I stand firm in all of my beliefs and opinions. The Oracle is an interactive display ran with ChatGPT Apollo is a god of Arts, among other things. It is INCREDIBLY insulting that your museum has incorporated AI into a display about Apollo's Oracle, considering AI is trained off of stolen artwork and copyrighted content, and it also considerably bad for the environment. It is laughable how ironic that is. Using a content-stealing, environment-damaging tool to mimic the experience from ancient times. It is a mockery of me, my religion, and the Gods themselves. All of the other displays were enjoyable and interesting. The Oracle, however, spoiled the entire day for me.
