Great service and fantastic rooms! The staff here are very professional and welcoming. The door staff were attentive and helpful, and the front desk team were amazing. In particular, Mohammad went out of his way to make sure we were set up with everything we needed during our stay. I’d encourage anyone visiting Melbourne to stay here!

We stayed at the Intercontinental Melbourne for one night in March 2024. We were pretty unimpressed. The rooms are dated and have not been well maintained. There was visible wear on nearly every surface. The bathroom was also quite poorly designed, with fixtures that were confusing to use, and a shower layout that was cramped and annoying to use. Service was fine, if not great. The website/app used to order room service is annoying to use and prompted me for my name and room number four different times before I could place the order. The hotel was also noticeably slow to come through and clean up our plates afterwards. On the positive side, their breakfast buffet was pretty good and had a lot of options. Overall, I expected better, especially given that this hotel is one of the costlier options in Melbourne. Would not stay here again. I will likely avoid IHG Hotel Group in the future as well.

This hotel is set in the late nineteenth century Rialto building and boasts a considerable amount of period style. We booked a club room and the evening cocktails and afternoon tea were very good. The room itself was comfortable but perhaps a little dated. The main weak point are the staff, especially in the lobby area. They rarely greet guests or show much in the way of hospitality.

The hotel is quite nice. It has a soul. Very cool design and atmosphere. The swimming pool and sauna are top notch - highly recommend to visit it. The buffet in the morning is tasty and has lots of stuff to try. The staff is welcoming, and helpful.

The air conditioning did not work for the two nights that I stayed there. The only solution offered es a tiny fan/heater. I was unable to get a decent sleep during my stay. Checked with other guests and they had the same issues with air conditioning. The rooms are adequate but have not been updated for a decade by my estimate. On checking out the staff did not provide and explanation or apology for the failure of air conditioning BUT they did ask if I had left the miserable fan/heater in the room. Miserable stay. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.
