Went to the York bistro last night Sunday August 2. Waited just under an hour for our meals. It was busy but not packed. My wife and I didn't mind too much but it ended up being a later than planned night for my 2 young children. Luckily the food was pretty yummy otherwise this would be a 1 star review. Come on York, let that kitchen shine! Plus it would be nice to have a few more vegetarian/vegan options. As a vegetarian there's only 2 options. As my local, could get sick of these quickly! Wait staff friendly.

Lunch Service was non existent. One person serving at meal order and doing the bar . Rump Steak and salad with pepper sauce. Steak 250 grams more like 150 grams and burnt and dry . I ask for medium . Salad consisted of green leaves and nothing else . Pepper sauce had 3 pepper corns in I added my own pepper. Mate had senior fish and chips 1 tiny piece of fish and a few chips would have got more in kids meal 4 of us have been regularly coming for lunch meals, wasn't good last week either . Would not recommend We are not coming back

I came here with my partner to meet her dad We order at 6:51 and 58 minutes went by and still no food as other tables were being prioritised over our table so my partners father went up and complained. He believes they forgot about out table as we were 3rd from and at this point it reach an hour . The restaurant wasn’t busy at all so we don’t understand why it took an hour for a burger , chips ( which they got wrong probably and didn’t even read the docket ) medium rare steak and the lamb shank, the lovely waiter got those shoe string fries . Absolutely horrible experience, iv worked in hospitality for 4 1/2 half’s and never experienced anything this horrible at such a quiet time of the evening. It looked like they just threw it on a plate with out a care in the world ( photo below ) If I could I’d give - 10 stars it was that disappointing

Terrible. Don’t go here. I never would have thought I’d have to wait 1hr 20 for our meals that were luke warm. Steaks were rubbery, the best thing on the plate was the pepper sauce,pasta was the worst I’ve ever had, tomatoes puréed and water served with pasta- yuck. I feel sorry for the staff that were trying and obviously under the pump, management should eat the food that they are serving up and hire some more chefs.

Lovely studio room overlooking the lake.newly renovated ground floor unit. Appreced the 2 free drinks at the bar close to the new bar eatery very welcoming warm with open fire place/gas..Friendly helpful staff ..negatives adjoining door unit could hear every word from next door. Will come back.
