Reviews for The Prince Hotel

We came here for a wedding in the beautiful central courtyard. It was outstanding. It’s just a beautiful spot for a small wedding. Utterly perfect, in fact. Gorgeous garden setting with nice light coming in and lovely plants all around. I’m not sure you can get a much nicer spot. And, the staff here were exceptional throughout, especially the young woman server from near Reading and the young chap (also from the UK) on the main bar. They were outstanding. Both were so happy and pleasant and just so service oriented. This is an excellent venue with great staff. We’d happily come here any time

The Public bar is pleasant, the food quite good with the usual pub fare, the wine list is a problem, on a visit on Sunday evening, only two wines by the glass, a shiraz and pinot noir at $15 plus, which is sad as the two available were very ordinary, less management and more hospitality would help, Fitzroy Street is going through a renaissance at the moment with the expanded Fifth and a new sports bar at the old Ritz Hotel opening soon, time to lift your game!

My favourite Hotel in Melbourne. Great location, the rooms are classy and modern with a cool style. Staff and service are amazing and the food at the Prince Bar and restaurant is always tasty and on point.

First of all, the good. The location is excellent and the interior (front bar) clean and nice. Service was good as well. The negative is really just one thing, but it's pretty big. They've changed the name on the exterior to "Kween" (of Wales) and put up gay colouring which I didn't see when I went in. It was almost a Blue Oyster moment although to be entirely fair, it didn't feel that way when I was there. I'm afraid that the "in your face" naming is a turn off and not family friendly. I feel they should respect the hotels heritage and drop the "in your face" stuff. Then I think you'll find the place will appeal to everyone. That said, thank you to the staff: they were great.
