Went to "Percy's Playground with family on 26/1 and this was our experience: -There were less food choices showing on menu when using the table link, than that which we'd looked at on-line beforehand. Not sure if there is just a different menu from the main hotel and the Playground? -They did calamari/squid as a small meal, but when I asked, I was told they didn't do it in any bigger serve. I was still wondering why, if they actually had squid available to cook, sell and serve in a small plate, then why couldn't they just do a bigger serve at a higher price? -I walked up to the service desk to order so I could make the above query re the squid dish, but when I had been told this was not an option at all, I then ordered the $27 fish and chips, grilled, not battered. -I was then told the price had gone up to ($29 something) due to holiday surcharge, which I paid. -Our meals were brought out very promptly which was good. The kids meals were well presented and we all thought they represented good value. -However, while my "dish" had a lot of chips on it, nearly filling the small basket, the actual fish component was basically 3 thin and narrow slivers sitting on top of all these chips.....I'd question if the entire meal was even worth $20 based on the actual portion size. -Also, a subsequent check of my bank statement showed some small additional charge, so the total had now reached $30.15. Now I am happy spending a lot more than that on a good meal, but the price of this meal, when taking into account the actual substance/volume of the meal served up, felt like a rip off, or daylight robbery as one of my family commented. I have certainly had a far bigger serving of fish on a bigger plate, with chips, as well as a salad, for just under $30 at various venues, including just a week earlier. -All in all, our efforts to support a local business were a bit of a let-down and we all agreed that we wouldn't return unless some subsequently more positive reports became known to those in my family who are locals. Our 2 kids enjoyed the actual playground and it was good to see there was plenty of fresh water available and that the toilets were clean. -We can see what management is trying to do here and commend them for this, but as above, the overall value of the meal simply did not align at all with the portion served up today.

What a great pub for food and atmosphere. I had the rump steak cooked to perfection and my partner had the beef guinness pie. Both were delicious. The servers and girls behind the bar were lovely and chatty. I would definitely come again. Comfortable booths and plenty of seating inside and out.

I just wanted to grab a drink, and there weren’t many people waiting around the pub. There were four bar staff, but no one acknowledged or served me ,even though I was standing right in front of the bar. It honestly felt like you only get served quickly if you’re dressed a certain way. The pizza wasn’t great either.. way too much sauce, very messy and hard to eat. Also, the kids’ playground isn’t connected to the pub area, which makes it quite inconvenient for families. Wouldn’t recommend based on this experience.

Amazing food and cocktails great value forever money love the new buy one get one free espresso martini. Such friendly bubly staff. The pizzas are the best thank you to the amazing pizza chef. Bailey and Railey were friendly and smiling walking around working so hard. Love the new Percy playground such a great way to bring families together in a community.

I can’t stress how good this pub is! I love all the locals (Woody, R&C, Guildford), but there’s just a vibe here the new owners have created that cuts nicely. Great selection of good honest beers and a few WA crafts. The pizzas are 10/10 but it doesn’t stop there. Burgers, small shares (tenders are amazing). They’ve totally nailed it. This will be my fourth week in a row on a Friday. Worth mentioning great big screen in the beer garden and there will be a kids playground by Christmas. Also staff are super friendly - especially Chris who welcomes me by name 😂
