Reviews for Royal on the Waterfront

The Royal is a “must do” on the waterfront. Staff are professional and friendly. Service is excellent and the food is beautiful- especially the seafood: scallops, prawns 🍤 and oysters 🦪 all fresh. The sip sip “spritz” and snack platter on Fridays is divine and the location can not be beaten. A well kept secret for the locals and a gem for the Perth dining scene. Highly recommending the lemon squeezie (Royale “frozen margarita” ) 🍋 and the natural oysters 🦪👌🏻🙌🏻

Went for a family lunch. Been awhile forgotten there were stairs to walk down to the restaurant and bar area. Also there is a lift. Otherwise you can go down the side of the building. We had great service the food was good. One steak wasn't cooked as requested, they quickly return it to the kitchen and came they way it was asked for. The view was lovely . Car parking wasn't an issue as we all did undercover parking. Everybody walked away happy 😊

I’m a regular nowadays. The food is on point. Seafood is fresh. The oysters are decent but I’ve just tried the lobster rolls. That’s probably my go to dish now along with the buttermilk fried chicken. So tender. So crunchy. And the buffalo sauce. Oooh yeah. Update June 2024. The “cured” scallops were not cured. They were raw. Translucent. Not opaque. We sent them back to see if the chef could get the dish corrected. 2 scallops were returned from the grill. Barely warmed.. not the 3. I could feel chefs rage in the attempted rectification of our grievance.

I visited The Royal St. in East Perth last Saturday and had an amazing experience! I tried the salmon bowl (I forget the name, but it was incredible!). The flavors were spot on, and it was just the perfect dish. I'm definitely coming back soon and will be bringing my friends along to enjoy the great food. I also visited about two years ago with my family, but honestly, I wasn’t that impressed back then. However, it seems like they've really upped their game, and the food is fantastic now. Highly recommend checking it out!
