Reviews for Esplanade Hotel Fremantle

***DANGER***. We booked 2 rooms, for 2 nights. Black mould in bathrooms and a/c vents, ceiling was rotted and dripping water onto carpet, and mould in the hallways. We informed the Indian “manager” and he laughed and said “that’s your opinion”. Eventually we moved to another 2 rooms and surprise surprise more black mould. Very dangerous stuff especially for our child who suffers bad allergies. (Peel hospital got evacuated and shut down for presence of black mould). We ended up leaving after being there for only 3 hours, being promised a full refund. 3 days later, still no refund. Ruined my daughter’s birthday, which we travelled from far away to celebrate at this filthy hole. This place needs to be shut down, as it is a danger to people’s health. I hope WA Health Department follows this up, as it has been reported. Also management staff need to be put on the unemployment list because of their bad attitude and lies. DO NOT STAY HERE, it’s safer in a tent at the park across the road.

Beautiful on the outside, common on the inside. The rooms are very lack luster. The pool is underwhelming. The lift incredibly slow. Most of the staff would rather be elsewhere, that includes staff on reception and bar staff we didn't eat there. Loved Freo, but would stay somewhere else next time.

This hotel needs to be changed to 3 star hotel and the only reason id keep it that high is for the location as that is the only thing you’re paying for. Before we even entered our room we were greeted with an empty pint glass outside the door, then entered to iron burn (that had been painted over) on the carpet and black mould in shower and electrical cords everywhere. I immediately requested a room change we were “upgraded” to a higher floor with a bigger bed but still mould/ black gunk in the shower, hair that was not ours all over the bathroom tiles, tape holding together roofing, stains everywhere, $2 shop quality outdoor furniture, rotting nails, discoloured bathtub, spiders in the hallway. Everything is just worn out and dated it urgently needs a refurb. Not to mention our TV didn’t work we called reception were told maintenance would come ASAP and hour and multiple unanswered calls later were told by someone else maintenance wasn’t actually working that day. When someone finally came up I told them not to bother. It was a weekend you know you’re going to be busy, roster accordingly. I will say staff were friendly and that was a redeeming factor. So to recap when you go to pay $300 odd a night to stay here you a paying for location NOT quality. Photos are from the second room we were “upgraded” to. Also a note to the hotel I see you’ve had numerous comments about the state of the place namely the mould maybe time to stop giving the generic “thanks for your feedback, sorry for your experience” reply and actually do something to fix it? Just a thought..

We arrived to a clean and well-appointed room in a fantastic location, perfect for exploring various attractions, including dining and entertainment. The pool facilities were excellent, with convenient poolside drink service and room service available around the clock. We also appreciated the option to forgo housekeeping on certain days for added incentives. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.

The hotel is fantastic. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and the location was minutes away to many great eateries, market and the coast area (where we had Kailis' fish and chips). The rooms are quiet, clean and the spacious. The only issue I had was that the balcony door's lock wasn't working and one could actually climbed through the balcony from the neighbouring rooms (if bold enough). I did not make a fuss of this tho, and did not lost anything or felt unsafe during my stay. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay/sleep here.
