The staff make this hotel receive more stars than I might grant. They were friendly, helpful, attentive & happy to add a late check out. The breakfast was delicious & they made a nice cup of coffee. The rooms were a decent size, & clean. The lighting though really needs some additions. Both the bathroom & room were too dark and made it difficult to apply makeup. They hadn’t gone through the mini fridge as there was old medication still there. The hallways, window ledges & stairways have seen better days and need more attention. Like a basic dust & good clean. Even the stair railing was quite dusty. If they did this, it would lift the hotel. I would still consider staying again as the location is great, the room was quiet & clean, the bed was comfy but only with better lighting.
The location was great. The staff were lovely but the hotel is certainly not worth the money it cost. At $300 a night you don’t expect mould and a bed head with the vinyl peeling off. When we spoke to the front desk they said it was on the list for renovation. There is no way that the room should have been booked and for $300 a night none the less. Will not be staying here ever again.
Great location 10 min walk to the cbd, 15min to museum, 10 min walk to the walking tracks along the lake. Service was great explained everything so we understood the parking arrangement. Plenty of room shower good pressure nice king bed coffee pod machine and hot chocolate was excellent. I saw some bad reviews and was a bit worried staying here but to be honest it is excellent.
The reception staff were AMAZING! We just stayed there for a night, room was comfortable however the air conditioning makes very weird noise which made it hard for us to sleep at night. Even when we turned off the air conditioning we could hear kids running in the hallway, you could even hear people walking in the hallway. Pre paid for the breakfast however the attitude of the gentleman who greeted us in the restaurant wasn’t welcoming at all! Straightaway told us that coffee and tea weren’t available, so we only had to choose from whatever was in the buffet (there were no eggs, veggies or meat) however reception team told me that the hot menu was available as well. Perhaps, the person in the kitchen need to fix their attitude.
Hotel is located within a short distance from city centre, in quieter surroundings between the national museum and CBD, near to the lake. Check in was easy, we get an upgraded room as a gold member. Parking was in the next building, although there’s a big yellow sign indicating Peppers hotel parking, on one occasion we couldn’t find any spot except one for disabled which we had to feel guilty to park on (there is another spare disabled spot so we prayed one extra was enough). On second night we noticed the other few spots have signs Heritage Hotel parking but we googled and couldn’t find any hotel of that name nearby, so we didn’t know if that was old name of peppers hotel or not, and wasn’t sure if we’re allowed to park there as seems no one else parked in those spots. Restaurant for breakfast looks understaffed so things were a bit slow as it ran out of clean coffee cups and juice glasses if you come down for breakfast a little bit late. Other than that room is clean and beds are comfortable. The bathroom is funky although the loping stone sink might be a bit awkward to use as it’s a bit far from the edge so have to lean over quite far just to wash your face or brush teeth.
