•Walk through Kittyhawk’s winding entry corridor and be transported to Paris on August 25, 1944. WWII is over. It’s Liberation Day! And what a party that would have been. Named after the WWII fighter jets of the same name, at Kittyhawk, no detail is spared. From mechanic manual-esque menus to the deep green and brass colour scheme, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time (in the best way possible).
Kittyhawk is a high-volume cocktail bar with a high-quality contemporary French restaurant menu. From graze-able cheese plates and charcuterie boards to steak-frites, there’s something to satisfy any hunger. A canapé menu is also available for functions.
There are a number of function spaces available. The Conservatory is a sun-filled room at the front of the venue – easily customised for seated or cocktail affairs. It’s semi-private and conveniently located right next to the bar, so you can quickly replenish your cocktail and get back to lazing by the French windows (which can be opened to let in the breeze). This space works well for mingling events, such as birthdays, engagements, networking functions and Christmas and EOFY parties. For those seeking a more secluded space, The Officers' Mess is a totally exclusive room, accessible by your own private lift. You’ll have your own bar, bartender and wait staff (if required) and the room is yours to decorate and customise as you please. You can move the furniture around, or remove it completely and hire on your own. It’s your space - make it work for you! The Officers' Mess is a very versatile space that suits a variety of functions from birthdays and engagements to corporate parties and team bonding sessions and even banquet dinners. You name it, it would probably work! The entire Kittyhawk venue can also be hired out and, if you combine this with The Officers' Mess, you have a capacity of 350 across two levels.
Kittyhawk is tucked away in the courtyard of the Aurora Place building, across the road from Chifley Tower. It is conveniently located close to many of Sydney CBD’s most popular destinations and both Martin Place and Circular Quay train stations are within walking distance. Although, if you don’t feel up to the stroll, there’s a taxi rank right outside on Bent Street.

For those who enjoy their privacy, this is a totally exclusive level with access via your own private lift. You’ll have your own bathrooms and your own bar and wait staff and the room furniture can be adjusted to suit a variety of configura...

The Lounge is perfect for banquet-style lunches, a delicious yet easy daytime dining option. It’s available for exclusive hire only from Tuesday to Saturday, between 11am and 3pm.
My colleagues and I went here after work and we loved it! The staff are super lovely. We made it just in time for happy hour as well. My colleagues got the four for $49 which was a great deal. I wasn’t too hungry so ordered the Pastrami Sandwich which was delicious.
We were really excited to try out their 4 for $49 deal so we made a booking for 8pm on a Tuesday. We got there 10 minutes late (8:10pm) and spent $50 in an Uber to make it in time for the 15 minutes grace period. Got there, and were told that our table wasn’t ready yet so we had to wait abit; we didn’t mind. We sat down at about 8:20pm and placed our orders at 8:30pm. Our drinks arrived but our food was taking a while, we didn’t think much of it at first because surely if the drinks came then our food order should be in the system — wrong. A server came up to us at 9pm and asked if we ordered food.. yeah we did. She came back and said our order was not in the system at all and apologized. At this point we were still quite understanding despite only being seated 20 mins after our reservation and finding out 30 mins after ordering that our food was not keyed into the system at all. Our appetisers came out around 9:05pm and we finished it fairly quickly. At this point the restaurant was already pretty empty but it still look really long for the servers to clear our plates and refill our water. At around 9:30pm, our mains finally came out; an hour thirty after our initial booking. It took another half an hour for our dessert to come out at 9:57pm and by 10:05pm we paid our bill and left. The bill totalled up to $139 and we paid in full despite the very poor service and average meal. The only apology we received the entire night was when the server found out our food was not keyed into the system. Other than that, nothing. Even when we paid the bill, the server looked unapologetic about the entire situation and just said a quick “thank you” after we paid. This was a terrible first experience and we are so disappointed. There was no compensation for the lateness and inconvenience. Even if the order was keyed in, the service was not what we were expecting and the food was mid at best. Would not recommend :(
From the moment you walk down the red-lit hallway into the underground world of Kittyhawk, you know you're in for something special. The space is moody and atmospheric, with dimmed lighting and a buzzing energy that perfectly sets the tone for the night. The waitstaff were attentive without being overbearing, friendly, fast, and knowledgeable about the menu. Speaking of the menu, the food was absolutely on point. The standout for me was the carrot dish, proof that simple ingredients, when done well, can be unforgettable. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The drinks list is extensive and impressive, with something for every palate. Whether you're into classic cocktails or more adventurous sips, you'll find plenty to love. Yes, it gets loud when the DJ starts spinning, but the vibe is electric and the music is curated perfectly. It’s never too loud to hold a conversation, just loud enough to make you want to stay longer, order another drink, and soak it all in. Highly recommend for a night out with friends or a cool date spot. Kittyhawk nails it.
Best place! Dark sultry atmosphere with groovy bar staff, and NY feel with low slung leather couches and a smooth funk beat in the background. Best part of our long weekend in Sydney!! Inviting & intoxicating cocktails and atmosphere.
Great vibe. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. And aesthetically great. Take advantage of a generous happy hour not seen much in Sydney these days. Also... Never have I used nice a clean and well presented bathroom in a city bar.
