The Grounds of Alexandria, our original location established in 2012, is one of Sydney’s favourite hospitality destinations. It boasts our famous Grounds Cafe, our restaurant The Potting Shed, our iconic Garden Bar & BBQ, and fabulous themed installations which draw people from all over Sydney and the world. The Grounds of Alexandria is also home to an array of unique private event spaces, hosting everything from intimate gatherings to weddings and corporate events.

Absolutely loved my visit to The Grounds Cafe! From the moment I stepped inside, the aesthetic was spot-on – a truly welcoming and stylish atmosphere. But it wasn't just the looks that impressed; the food was fantastic. Every dish was clearly made with care and tasted delicious. The drinks were equally wonderful, and the cakes? Oh my goodness, the cakes! Absolutely divine. I'll definitely be back for more of everything. Highly recommend!

"Recently visited The Grounds of Alexandria for a family breakfast and I'm delighted to report that this iconic Sydney establishment has made an impressive comeback. As a long-time patron who has been visiting since 2018, I can confidently say that the breakfast quality has returned to its former glory. The period following the pandemic was admittedly challenging for The Grounds, with a noticeable dip in food quality that concerned many regular customers. However, management has clearly taken these concerns seriously and implemented significant improvements. The transformation is remarkable – every dish we ordered today demonstrated the same exceptional standards that initially made The Grounds famous. Our family was thoroughly impressed with our breakfast experience. The flavors were spot-on, portion sizes were generous, and the attention to detail in presentation was impeccable. It's refreshing to see a beloved establishment successfully overcoming post-pandemic challenges and returning to its high standards. The atmosphere remains as charming as ever, but now it's perfectly complemented by food that matches the venue's reputation. For those who may have been disappointed during the post-pandemic period, I strongly recommend giving The Grounds another try. They've definitely recaptured their magic, particularly in their breakfast offerings. 5/5 - A true return to form for one of Sydney's most beloved dining destinations."

As soon as I walked in, I was surprised to see sheep there, but it was a pleasant surprise. Since it’s known for its photo spots, there were a lot of people, and the decorations were even better than I expected, which was satisfying. At the entrance, we were greeted by a female staff member who was a bit curt, but I didn’t want to dwell on it too much. The desserts looked amazing, but we were there to fill our stomachs first, so we ordered the Mediterranean Bowl, The Grounds Beef Burger, and a milkshake. The drinks came with eye-catching decorations, which made it fun, and they said we could take the cups home after finishing the drinks! The food tasted fine—nothing extraordinary but enjoyable. Since the theme changes seasonally, I think it’s a great place for people who love taking photos. (I visited on July 31st, but it seems like the theme has changed now, so keep that in mind.)

I visited yesterday with a friend, and I must say, The Grounds Alexandria is an absolute gem for anyone who loves a picturesque setting. The place is stunning, especially with the current pink blossom decorations that create a dreamy, Instagram-worthy atmosphere. It’s no wonder it’s such a popular spot for photos—every corner feels like it was designed to be captured. I saw so many people, especially groups of girls, taking pictures, and I completely understand why. The aesthetic is just perfect for a fun, photogenic outing. As for the food, I found it to be fairly ordinary. While it wasn’t anything extraordinary, it was decent and didn’t take away from the overall experience. However, the real highlight for me was the environment. The combination of lush greenery, charming decor, and the bustling yet cozy vibe makes it a place I’d love to return to. I can definitely see myself coming back here from time to time, not necessarily for the food, but to enjoy the ambiance and take more photos. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot to relax, catch up with friends, and snap some gorgeous pictures, The Grounds Alexandria is definitely worth a visit!

Great atmosphere and classy magical garden decor. It is definitely worthy of its reputation as an ideal place for social media photos. However the food and service were just OK. Decent size portions. We went when it was pretty busy, so it took a very long time to get our orders.
