For those who appreciate great historical architecture, Wylie's Baths is a rare find. Henry Alexander Wylie, a champion long-distance, and underwater swimmer established Wylie's Baths in 1907. Henry Wylie is the father of Mina Wylie who, along with Fanny Durack, were Australia's first female Olympic swimming representatives, and Australia's first woman gold and silver medallists respectively.

The construction of the Baths coincided with an emerging interest in seaside baths in Sydney and became one of Australia's first mixed-gender bathing pools.

In the mid-seventies, the baths were closed to the public because of storms and high seas. However, in 1978 they reopened with help from Randwick Council. Previously known as the sunstrip pool, it was then renamed Wylie's Baths.

In 1994, a major renovation was undertaken in collaboration with the Randwick City Council. The facility has been fully renovated to meet modern needs, but every effort was made to keep its historic integrity and the old-fashioned feel.

Today, it is the perfect location for company functions, team-building events and family gatherings such as wedding receptions, birthdays and more.

Tucked away on the south side of Coogee Beach, Wylie's Baths is one of many ocean baths that have been around for quite some time. The pool itself sits high up in rocks overlooking Sydney's famous shoreline, the best view of the Pacific Ocean, and has an interesting history- including being built just about when people were becoming more interested in seaside activities like swimming during early twentieth-century Australia.

Wylie Baths have to be one of the best ocean pools on the Sydney Coast. The ocean pool is unique as it has a natural rock pool and the waves break over each side.

Wylie's Baths has a dynamic tidal pool environment. The magnificent marquee on the top deck overlooks an intimate and picturesque beach, historic Baths Beach in Coogee as well as the famous Wedding Cake Island. The venue can hold 150 people seated or 200 standing with perfect views for a Wylies Baths wedding and other social events!
