The Captain’s Tasting Menu is an absolute steal at $79 and even cheaper if you book through First Table deal (50% off—yes, you read that right!). This culinary journey includes a expertly crafted cocktail and six inventive tasting dishes that showcase the kitchen’s creativity and skill. Standouts? The mushroom tartare was a revelation—earthy, umami-rich, and perfectly balanced with crispy textures. The hibachi grilled steak melted in the mouth, charred to smoky perfection, while the Earl Grey tea custard was a dreamy finale, blending floral notes with velvety sweetness. Every dish arrived like a work of art, plated with precision and flair. The service was attentive yet unobtrusive, guiding us through the courses with warmth. If you’re seeking a memorable night of inventive cuisine, stellar cocktails, and ambiance that oozes charm, Captain’s Balcony is your port of call.
Nice quiet intimate setting with mood lighting. Friendly and prompt service. The nicely presented food tastes amazing and is a good accompaniment to the drinks. They have good range of quality made cocktails that will leave you wanting more. This would be a good place to bring a date to. Would recommend: Salt and pepper squid with squid ink mayonnaise, Hokkaido scallop crudo, and/ or the Crispy slow cooked pork belly, Szechuan caramel, coriander, pickled chili and black sesame. You won’t be disappointed!
What a great place! Huge drink selection if you into it. $79 tasting menu is a perfect choice and it even includes a cocktail. Will definitely go back there again, loving it!
Unique little spot in Crowsnest. Finally had the chance to drop by as we usually just passed by it. We booked through “First Table” and got 50% off through the app so it was a steal! (terms and conditions included ofcourse). We tried the tasting menu and everything was enjoyable. Overall, great tasting dishes and awesome cocktails. Nice place to have happy hour too.

The food is of high quality, with each dish reflecting the chef’s meticulous craftsmanship. The pork belly, in particular, was the best I’ve had recently. As someone who frequently enjoyed liver pâté in Italy, I found it challenging to find comparable quality in Australia, but the pâté here is exceptional.
