The views from the cafe here are the best I've found at any coworking space and an awesome way to start or end the working day. The different membership types accommodate different working hours, there's a small gym with space for yoga and showering facilities, and there are free coded lockers for use during the day if you're travelling or similar. Also, the quality of features, furnishings, amenities, staff, and cleaning is consistently high across all Hub Australia locations in Sydney and especially at Hub Hyde Park. The last thing I really like about Hub Australia in Sydney is the variety of workspaces available, again especially at Hyde Park - quiet sitting spaces, standing desks, outdoor tables, and more - and it's clear that a lot of thought has been put into design of the layout, as well as in the selection of comfortable, ergonomic furniture in all of the office areas. Would definitely recommend Hub Hyde Park.
Besides the wonderful staff at the cafe, the remainder of our time at this office was absolutely abysmal whilst paying premium rates. They did not meet their end of the bargain with a majority of the technology lacking functionality, constantly having to ask for basic amenities like water to be stocked in the room, constant dropping out of Internet, amongst other things. We were moved 3 days out of our 5 days booking to a different office (which we appreciated) but that didn’t solve the problems we continued to face. Countless times trying to ask for help was met with short responses from staff and lack of help. Poor experience overall. Finally, our locked office was entered into by a staff member 15 minutes before our booking was meant to end. Suddenly, a piece of expensive jewellery was misplaced/thrown away. When we asked for a cctv review they claimed it wasn’t sufficient to show anything. When we asked for reimbursement which was a fraction of what we paid for the week, they chose not to help. Suffice it to say, the matter is with the police now for handling. Choose one of the many other places to use as a meeting area or coworking space. The area is sprawling with small, independent businesses that would love your support.
Well designed, spacious co-working space over several floors. Lots of natural light. High ceilings. Private cafe with rooftop balcony area for co-working tenants. Good range of bookable meeting rooms. Close to Hyde Park and Museum subway station. Really enjoyable place to work.
Our home away from home. My business partner and I started our business, The Hummingbirds, two years ago in the original William Street Hub and moved to Hub Hyde Park when it opened last year. Fantastic design, amazing people, social events, great location, beautiful rooftop cafe and balcony, dog friendly, and everything you need whether you are a start up or established business. Our clients love coming us. My favourite member times are fortnightly Thursday Breakfast Club and weekly Friday Wine Down.
I visited what felt like every coworking space in the Sydney CBD area, and although this one is just on the other side of Hyde Park from the rest of the CBD, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything as a result. I just needed a dedicated desk with solid wifi, free coffee (they have a self-serve espresso machine in addition to the full café), and a sun-soaked rooftop patio with a view of the Sydney skyline. I wear noise-cancelling cans all day, every day, so the noise level is not an issue for me, but if you need silence to focus, you may have a harder time focusing around here unless you splurge for the private office. Mood music plays around the open-floor office, and even in the restrooms. There are some soundproof phone booths, but seems like there could be a few more around the office. I enjoy the Friday wine downs as well. Oh and it’s dog-friendly!
