Our group had a booking after checking that their website stated they were wheelchair accessible. Despite our booking stating clearly that one in our party required wheelchair access we turned up to find that the venue was not accessible by wheelchair and the table assigned to us was a high table with high chairs so clearly not suitable for a wheelchair. The nice person behind the bar admitted that their manager was aware of the request but did nothing… so no thoughts to call us and see what we could do or anything!! So there we were on a Saturday night, stranded and trying to get a table for 9 people at the last minute nearby… Very disappointed with the management of this place and don’t recommend it to anyone looking for a venue which is accessible and wheelchair friendly.
We're very happy we booked the New Britannia to celebrate my partner's birthday. Our guests and the birthday boy had a fantastic time. From the moment I reached out, Luke was incredibly helpful and responsive. The staff on the night were great, making us feel welcomed and ensuring everything ran smoothly. We enjoyed the pizza and selection of drinks. Thank you, team, for making it a memorable night!
Food/Pizzas were really tasty. Bar service could be a bit nicer. zero smiles when I tried to be friendly...felt like they didn't want us there at all and drinks were simple~ no lime/lemon in G&T or garnishes in cocktails, but not a huge deal. When I asked for 3 espresso martinis they said "yea, **annoyed** that's going to take a while, we're busy" and I wasn't sure if she was asking me not to order it or wait? Otherwise The hotel vibe was a nice venue.
Great variety of beers and pizza with a large number of vegetarian options (surprisingly)! They also have a bunch of discount offers including $10 pizza for students and Friday lunch etc. Would definitely recommend!
recently attempted to book a bucks party at the New Britannia and was initially told there’d be no problem accommodating our group (50ppl). I provided all the details they needed, but then communication completely stalled. For over two and a half weeks, my calls, emails, and text messages went unanswered. It was incredibly frustrating to be ignored like that, especially when trying to organise an important event. Poor management and a disappointing experience overall.
