I recently stayed for 2 nights and everything was exceptional. The reception, bar, and restaurant staff were obliging and professional. The menu choices were excellent, not to mention $18 for a yummy cooked breakfast! Its a 5 minute walk from Central Station concourse & the Light Tail station, or about 5 minutes down George Street to a convenient Light Rail stop to Circular Quay. The room was clean and beds comfortable. There was no street noise. I will be back! Thank you for a perfect stay with you. 🥳
Great find for a female older solo interstate traveller. Safe, charming old building, budget friendly, close to all sites & transport both local, interstate train and all airport links. Room great, meals fresh and generous, quiet room on 6th floor and staff friendly and efficient. My new favourite spot to stay when in Sydney. I’ll be back and recommending for sure. Sincerest thanks.
Great location right in the heart of Sydney, only a short walk to Central Station, Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The staff were super friendly and check-in was quick and easy. My room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed, plus it was nice and quiet after a big day in the city. For the price, the value is excellent—modern comforts with a bit of old-style charm. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip!
Had a great stay at The Great Southern Hotel. The location is perfect being so closed to the train station and a light rail stop. My mother had really bad vertigo after the plane ride. The team were able to shuffle things around to enable us to check in early which was appreciated. When she required a doctor to come to the hotel, the staff gave a great and affordable recommendation. Only minor grumble was that the air conditioning's minimum setting is not as low as I would have wanted. Would have liked for that to go lower than 21 degrees. Overall, a really great stay.
I really thought it was a clean, comfortable stay and beautiful building. The room was big and comfortably fit a double bed and small desk, a private en suite with soap, hair dryer etc; everything worked, and it was really cheap by post Covid prices. Lots of power points. Bring the staff at check-in and free Wi-Fi. I read some lower rated reviews and I think guests shouldn’t expect 5 stars; it’s marked as a 3 star hotel to be honest it’s very nice for a 3 star. I enjoyed my stay here. Great location too.
