Came here on a Friday night with reservation. They seated me and guest outside in the corner and it reeked off sewer. When finally got the attention of the waitress and asked to move seats she told us that was normal and sometimes the wind carries the sewer smell from next door. Why would you seat us outside knowing that then??? The cocktails were slow to come out but were good. Our pizza was cold when it came out. Paid $130 for 4 cocktails, burrata and seafood pizza. The food was a bit bland and I wish the service was better.
Adding another reviews as this evening was exceptional. The cocktails were amazing. I had the porchetta which should be permanently on the menu and the tiramisu pizza was delicious. Picked the worst night for a rooftop bar, it had rained all day. But we still had an enjoyable meal. Shared entrees of arancini balls, scallops, and tuna. Then had mains of barramundi, balmain bug ravioli and a steak. The service was fantastic and the wine prices reasonable. When you pay the bill they even give you a $20 credit for your next visit.
Visited this place when it was catered to lovers of pizza and pasta. If you don't like carbs, don't bother coming; The menu was just pizza and pasta. Food was definitely good but was just disappointed by the limitations; it means group gatherings (many different taste buds, dietary restrictions) does not and will not work. The view is pleasant but the selection of food for a "bar" is too limited. No air conditioning and just a fan so I had air constantly being in my hair. The service staff were pleasant and welcoming. I would return for drinks.
Had a great night celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere, food and cocktails were fantastic, especially the pizzas and the sirloin. Our server was knowledgeable and super friendly. Would love it if the menu was expanded but i will definitely be back 😁
Above 8 Rooftop Bar & Lounge mixes a chic indoor lounge with lots of natural light provides a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The open air terrace equipped with comfy sofas and fireplaces offers a fantastic setting to enjoy the view. 🙂 I had a warm entree to start off the meal. It was a plate of pan fried scallops, tempura eggplants & crispy prosciutto on a bed of hand made noodles in XO sauce. The presentation was excellent, it was modern and refined. 🙂 Loved the hand made noodles, they had a nice bouncy texture and the crispy prosciutto gave a nice textural contrast to the dish but I didn’t enjoy the dish as much as I should because it was very salty. 😬 The saltiness of the XO sauce and the prosciutto really dominated the whole dish. Moreover I didn’t like the greasiness of the tempura eggplants. 🫤 Then I had Gamburi & Nduja Pizza. The dough was on the stiff hard side, not the chewy crust that I love but it had a great flavour. Again it was quite salty with the combination of nduja and brined whole black olives. I would love more prawns on it as some of the slices only got one prawn. Normally you get more prawns in other places. 😗 As for dessert, it saved the day. 🤩The light and crispy caramelised filo pastry flaked pleasantly with every bite, yuzu parfait was creamy and the matcha crème suisse was velvety soft. The whole dish was light and not overly sweet. Happy ending! I’ll return because of their desserts. 😙
