I was at Bar Milano celebrating a coworker’s baby shower with my colleagues. I really liked the atmosphere, the service, and the place itself. We had plenty of space, and the staff stood out for their warmth and excellent customer service. The food was good. Overall, it’s an excellent spot to enjoy a great time with friends, family, coworkers, or even for a moment to yourself.
I recently dined at Barmilano, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The beef Ragu gnocchi was absolutely superb soft, perfectly cooked, and full of rich, comforting flavour. It’s the kind of dish that reminds you why simple, traditional Italian food done well is unbeatable. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the exceptional customer service from Riccardo. He was incredibly professional, warm, and genuinely inviting, making us feel welcome the moment we walked in. His attention to detail and passion for hospitality were evident throughout the service , and he created an atmosphere that felt both polished and relaxed exactly what you hope for in a great Italian restaurant. Barmilano is extremely lucky to have such a fantastic manager. Riccardo runs the restaurant with confidence, care, and authenticity, ensuring everything functions seamlessly while still feeling personal and heartfelt. The result is a well managed, professional, warm, and truly Italian dining experience that stands out. Highly recommend for the food, the service, and the wonderful sense of hospitality that keeps you coming back. 🇮🇹🍝
I’m a local to the area and have always admired this restaurant from the outside. The vibe and presentation are classy, chic, yet warm and inviting — so when my friend came down from Brisbane to visit, I took the opportunity to finally try it. Unfortunately, I left feeling very disappointed. I’m not sure if it was poor timing, lack of organisation, or being understaffed, but the experience didn’t live up to the high expectations or the price tag. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman who went out of his way to find us a spot in the courtyard, even though it was quite busy with what seemed to be a birthday celebration. It was a thoughtful gesture and a promising start. However, the service quickly went downhill from there. We waited so long for our meals that I had to call over three different staff members on separate occasions to ask where our food was. The first dish took around half an hour to arrive — and while it was tasty, it was just a burrata with tomatoes and olive oil. I couldn’t help but wonder why something so simple took so long. The staff overall came across as quite snobby and uptight. The restaurant feels like it’s trying too hard to be something exclusive, but it ends up feeling pretentious instead. The simplicity and quality of the food are overshadowed by the sourness of the service. A bit more warmth and genuine hospitality would completely change the experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning, but I genuinely wish this place all the best. It has so much potential — just needs a few tweaks to elevate it from below average to one of the true hotspots of the East.
Such a great restaurant, we have been eating here for years & it is always consistent, food & drinks absolutely delicious, best food & cocktails bayside by far! I’m gluten free & almost all their menu is GF friendly, they have the best GF home made penne pasta, it was so good, tastes like normal pasta!! the service is amazing! The whole team are fantastic, Georgette is so welcoming & Lorenzo always looks after us, he is uplifting & definitely gives you the you the fun, warm & friendly Italian experience & he also has a great joke around with us! The Tiramisu is to die for!!!! We love Friday nights here, best way to spend a warm summer night!
We celebrated my sons 21st birthday here. Ruta the events organiser helped bring the birthday together. She is amazing! Lorenzo hosted us for the evening and was fabulous. Everything came together in such a beautiful restaurant. The vibe was perfect!
