Great Fresh Ingredients, Outstanding Steaks 4/5 Stars The food at this restaurant really shines with its fresh, high-quality ingredients. We were lucky to have the manager guide us through the menu and recommend some standout dishes. The steaks were definitely the highlight - we tried two different cuts and both were cooked to perfection with excellent flavor. The corn bread is also a specialty worth trying, though it was a tad on the sweet side for my taste. A couple areas not sure: the radish garnish on the scallops dish unfortunately gave off an unpleasant odor. And while the overall ambiance was nice, the dim lighting made it quite dark inside. The service was a bit lacking as well, though perhaps that was weather-related on the day we visited. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this place for the delicious steaks and fresh menu items. Just be sure to ask them to hold the radish garnish on the scallops if you're sensitive to strong aromas! A solid option for an upscale meal.
Perfectly cooked steaks of great quality each time we've been here. Great array of starters and entrees, we always end up ordering almost all the entrees (lol). The food is amazing and full of flavour. One of my favourite steak restaurants, also with wonderful service.
Our waiter, Ashley, was hospitable with a unique charm and sense of humour paired with extensive knowledge and professionalism. Based on his recommendations, each meal definitely hit the mark, both in presentation and taste. Our dining experience was refreshing and intimate. Highly recommend. P.S. loved the complimentary 21st birthday dessert.
Honestly, a pretty poor experience considering the cost. Sydney has a lot to offer, especially if you are ok paying ~$250 a head. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy it. We started with oysters. Of the four we had, one was off. Like, properly off. My partner thought it tasted “more mouldy than blue cheese” and she likes blue cheese. Which, after it couldn’t be eaten and was sent back to the kitchen, was not even removed from our bill. We had to say that we were not comfortable paying for something we could only eat a portion of. The seafood seemed quite overcooked. Scallops were a little chewy and the prawn somewhat charred, although that just may be a preference thing to be fair. We had the wagyu tasting set. The meat felt like the cheaper cuts and also seemed a little overcooked. We got medium, which was the chefs recommendation. The sauces also had a bit of a dry layer on top of them, like they were prepared well in advance and left sitting there. The final disappointing thing was the mac and cheese side. It was more like cheap pasta, cream and breadcrumbs. There was no cheesiness whatsoever. Pretty disappointing. On a positive note, the other two sides, the creamed spinach and broccolini, were good. All that said and done, the service team was lovely. I don’t want this experience to, in any way, sound negative to the service experience. The team were great. It was the food that really lets this place down. Overall, we spent a lot (for us) and ended up just wanting to get out of there. We do a monthly date night and, other than the company, this was probably one to forget. Shame.
From the dishes we had, the rump cap and spanner crab cold dish were our favourite. They were both delicious in their own way. Great service by Vu. She was attentive and made us felt very comfortable dining here.
