love vasco so much. was so sad when the newtown location closed but me and my boyfriend tried out the surry hills one and it’s great! a lot less crowded and wonderful atmosphere. The food is amazing and so worth the money. Perfect for a date night or special occasion :)
I celebrated my birthday at Vasco this weekend and had an amazing experience. We were sat at a beautiful table outside and the service and food were both amazing. Music and decor was also a 10/10!
Trendy spot with a young crowd and lively atmosphere. Cocktails were great and service was friendly, but the food didn’t live up to the hype. Very loud inside and only one shared toilet, which was inconvenient. Better for drinks than dining.
Vasco, the rock ‘n roll bar in Surry Hills, Sydney, is a unique mix of edgy atmosphere, inventive cocktails, and Italian-inspired comfort food. Named after Italian rock legend Vasco Rossi, the bar fully embraces its gritty rock vibe with a moody, music-centric decor—think guitars, arcade games, and dim lighting that captures the dive-bar feel with a cool, modern twist. The atmosphere is bold and unpolished, making it a standout amidst Sydney’s more refined venues. Vasco offers a distinctive cocktail menu with rock-themed drinks like the “Sweet Caroline” and “Coffee & TV,” while their Italian-inspired food menu, created with chef Nicola Ronconi, includes crowd-pleasers such as spicy vodka rigatoni and handmade gnocchi. The bar also recently introduced a pizza oven, adding an exciting range of pizzas to its offerings. Happy hours from 5 to 7 p.m. make it an ideal spot for after-work drinks in Surry Hills .
This is probably my favourite place in the world after our experience tonight. Good food, good drinks, good service, good atmosphere. I think I saw our servers name on the docket was Heather, she went above and beyond with our drinks and meals tonight. Will definitely be back in the very near future ❤️
