Bistro strategically located within Docklands with unrivalled view of the skyscrapers landscape and ideal to enjoy the breeze by the bay. On top of this, there’s aplenty of seats available and I was not worry at all when I reached there around evenings, can feel the crowd and the vibes surrounding the bistro yet able to get a seat near the window, enabling me to savour my pizza while enjoying the night view. Simply a memorable evening at Cargo!
The chicken parma was juicy, flavorful, and served in a generous portion, making it a great choice. However, I wouldn’t recommend the souvlaki plate as it lacked the authentic flavor and was a bit underwhelming. On the bright side, the Spanish paella was a pleasant surprise—refreshingly bold with a nice spicy kick that paired well with the meal. Overall, a mixed experience with some standout elements.
Dined here twice on recent trip to Melbourne whilst staying closeby. The food was great and generous servings. paella was best I’ve had. service very good (better mid week vs sat night though as less crowded/quieter) . We ended up going back again on our last night for drinks and grabbed take away they were so accommodating! - the best mulled wine too
Special wagyu burger and paella are tasty. Margarita pizza can be better. Like the Beer too. Will recommend this place if you are in Docklands area.
My friends and I stumbled across Cargo while exploring the Docklands on a Friday night. What drew us in was the welcoming venue and the reasonably priced menu. The indoor area is as cosy as the outdoor area is spacious. Almost anywhere you sit, you can enjoy lovely views of the Yarra night or day. Our pizzas were a little bit oily but otherwise delicious. The mac and cheese was a perfect mid-ground between plain and overly decadent. If I had to say anything bad about Cargo, it is that the service was sometimes friendly sometimes unenthusiastic. Regardless, I would certainly recommend giving it a go.
