Located in Sydney's iconic Hyde Park and recently refurbished, Doltone House Hyde Park is at your service to deliver sophistication and luxuriousness at the drop of a top hat. Crystal chandeliers cascade from the ceiling to provide an old-world glamour (and light, of course), and there's also a sweeping staircase of black leather and luxe gold mirrors to give the venue an opulence like no other. Doltone House Hyde Park is a perfect space for luxurious wedding receptions and parties not to be forgotten. Then there's the ballroom: a dramatic juxtaposition of black and gold, the Hyde Park Ballroom is a grand space encapsulated by sophistication and elegance. I went to Doltone house for a conference, the space was good and the food served by the (presumably) Doltone team was good. However, the reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is the signage. Outside the venue is not very well signed, and then the conference suits are on the 3rd floor but there’s nothing obvious to guide you there. A great venue but you kind of need to know where it is and how to get to the right place within it.

I attended the 2022 Mary's House Gala Dinner at Doltone House Hyde Park. There was a very large crowd with some great live entertainment and nice food. There are several large screens with good resolution, which helped with the presentations and speeches. The room is large with high ceilings and arched windows that frame a lovely aspect across Hyde Park.
CREDIT WHERE IT’S DUE
Having been to the sensational Doltone House I’ve always been delighted with the food, service and ambience. All that said with the utmost sincerity, I was there during the week and was unlucky to have encountered a rather rude, brash and very unpleasant staff member….. his name begins with an “I” and ends with a “c”. Young man. You need a lesson in customer service. Whatever kind of bad night you were having you should have put it aside and held in high regard the name that is Doltone House. What a shame. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

A hidden gem. Excellent function centre, lots of space. We were in the ballroom on level 3. The food/snacks were excellent and the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Highly recommended.

One of a few other Doltone Houses in Sydney, the Hyde Park property is on Level 3 of 181 Elizabeth St, next to the Sheraton. Like most buildings in the vicinity, this building is a heritage structure with ornate stone work and magnificent chandeliers. I’ve been to all the Doltone venues for corporate events. Their catering is excellent and so is the service. Lunches and Dinners are top notch and the staff look after guests well. 4 stars to this Doltone House because the age of the building is being to show on the carpets, rickety chairs and the squeaky floor boards.
